Frequency of Onc folllow-up appointments
Hi everyone. I am now officially 5 yrs out cancer free and had my follow up appt with my oncologist yesterday. My follow ups started with every 3 mths, gradually moving to every 4 mths and then 6 mths. I was really hoping yesterday that he would graduate me to yearly follow up appts but he said he'll keep me at every 6-9 mths. I kept quiet about it and left. So now I'm wondering how often the rest of my TN survivor sisters are going for their follow ups after the 5 yr mark. Is every 6 mths still necessary? I'm all for continuing with my check ups but at this point I just figured it could be stretched out to an annual exam.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

At 4 years, my onc said to come back annually. I do see my BS every year too though ... and my GP. -
At the 5 year mark I was changed to annually. Just went to my annual appt. yesterday and now he says protocol has changed and they no longer will be doing labs, go figure.
