yikes.. i have a CRAZY RASH!

I am on Abraxane/Herceptin/Perjeta. been on the cycles since Aug 25th.. just last week started to get this painful and itchy rash.. like welts/acne... on scalp.. neck, chest.. now on back of thighs and whole abdomen area.. anyone else get this? is it the Abraxane or the Perjeta?

    Jersey Girl, I don't have any experience with those drugs. Did you check the websites for them to see if it's listed as an SE? Sometimes they can show up after you've been on a drug for a while.


    You might want to call your onc about it also.

    Sounds like a bad allergic reaction to something. Did you call the doctor?

    I was on a different chemo regime and developed an itchy rash on both wrists--looked something like a cross between hives and poison ivy (this was on the AC part of the chemo, not the Taxol). I was told it wasn't a reaction they had seen or read about and they suggested I try the Benadryl cream. It may have been a coincidence, but after I put the Benadryl on it, it did clear right up.

    misseJERSEYGIRL, as you can read on the main Breastcancer.org site, "Any medicine has the potential to cause a rash in some people", Perjeta among others… Here are some tips that may help you manage it until you ask your doctor.

    I had an awful rash when I was on Taxol. I was also taking meds for depression: Lamictal and Xanax. Was switched to AC chemo, Remeron, and Buspar. I was told was a drug-drug reaction. Ok now except teeth and gum sores.

    I got a rash after 1st. Taxol tx, mo told me to use cortisone 10 or extra-strength. It will not hurt you, it is a standard go ointment for lots of skin rashes. It worked well for me. I use it alot for rashes that I get from extremely dry skin, wintertime, dry air, hot showers...good luck..

    I'm on Faslodex and Arimidex and got a really bad rash from my neck to my stomach.

    No one ever figured out for sure why I got it ( I have a million half baked theories)

    They gave me Hydroxyzine. It helped a lot I can't remember what kind of cream. Good luck! Rashes are so not fun. Xoxo
