Requesting prayer for anxiety re: routine followup

Options

I feel ashamed to be asking this, but here I go ...

I'm going for a routine 6-month followup tomorrow. This visit will only be a BMA (which always includes some sort of spine x-ray as part of the bone density check) and a routine physical exam. My PCP has already done my labs and they are fine.

Despite having no symptoms, I'm fearful they'll see "something else" on the BMA, and I become almost sick as the oncology nurse practitioner (sweet as she is) performs the physical exam.

I know how blessed I am to not be symptomatic and to have caught my BC so early, but I get so fearful before these visits. I think it's PTSD, but whatever it is, I feel ashamed. I know there are SO MANY people MUCH more in need of prayer than me on this board, but I sure would appreciate a prayer that I'm able to calm down and that my physical exam and test results come out fine.

I'll be happy to pray for any of you. Just ask me. :) xo

I'm happy to pray for you! I like to recite special verses or the Lord's Prayer during exams or scans. God bless you and keep us posted. You are not alone!

Thank you Blessings20 and Timbek2 .... Your prayers are so very appreciated, and I will keep you (and all our sisters) in my prayers as well.

Very good idea about the Lord's Prayer. It's so beautiful and complete and it calms me. Funny story related to that. One of my first mammogram re-checks was my first followup where I went alone post treatment. I was SO anxious that morning that when I slowly recited the Lord's Prayer as I drove to the hospital, I kept forgetting one part ... and I know it so well by heart! I took a "grip" on myself (haha) and remembered it shortly after that. No way the devil was going to stop my prayer that morning ... or any day!

God bless you. You're both kind and beautiful sisters! xo

That's the beautiful thing about prayer - even we stumble over the words, He hears our hearts and knows our every need.
