Cream for radiation treatment?

Options

Hello, all.

A friend of mine is starting radiation and they told her to get a cream but she couldn't remember the name of it, only that it was very expensive. Does anyone know what that might be? Also, they told her to use Eucerin if she couldn't afford the prescription. Has anyone ever used that?

Thanks so much for your feedback.

I used the $6 a bottle of aloe that my medical center recommended, and Bag Balm. The latter was a present from a friend. My skin was just fine.

I used Emu Oil and had no problems beyond just a tad bit of sunburn-like reaction the last two or three days and healed very quickly. My rad onc specifically recommends Emu Oil to fair skinned women -- which I'm not, but which another patient who was clued me in that she'd been told to use it. Another ideal choice is any product that's rich in calendula. PM me if you'd like some specific brand names or a source for your friend. (((Hugs))) Deanna

I used a 98% aloe product and had no problems whatsoever other than a slight, non-painful reddening during the boosts at the end.

Miaderm.....???  Here is the link to read about this cream:http://miaderm.com/.  FYI: this is the radiation cream that was recommended to by a radiology nurse. My friends who have gone through radiation also recommended Aquaphor which can be purchased at Target, Walgreens, CVS, etc.  . Fortunately, I did not have to have rads.  I do not have any financial interest or affiliation with the Miaderm company.

My radiology nurse recommended a cream called Remedy. You would probably have to get it ordered through your pharmacy but its an over the counter topical. It worked wonders for me and was very cheap.
