Hi girlfriends! Sorry I haven't been around. I'm getting over bronchitis and a sinus infection. It's just taking forever to go away. I'm so glad i got a pneumonia vacccine when i was in the hospital back in May!
kslansky, i'm saying prayers for good pet scan results! I was diagnosed last year on Nov. 6th, ten days before my 50th birthday. I think I'm going to use the 29th, when I had my lumpectomy, as my cancerversary date. I can't wait to put this first year behind me!
Momof3, how nice for your DD's teacher to send you that note. isn't it amazing what one positive gesture can do for your soul?
websister, Happy Dance for your port removal!
Believe, enjoy your vacation in Hawaii!! we went to Maui ages ago, and Kauai in '07. Heaven on Earth!!
Have a great weekend ladies!! (((Hugs))) to all! 💗Sheila -
Believe:I have just picked up my bracelet – thank you so much.It is beautiful and purple happens to be one of my fav colours. It certainly made me smile – thanks. You are a treasure.I will look at Kona – some of the flights are really crappy from Canada for some reason.May have to look at later – like March/April instead of Feb. Have a great trip
Kslansky: in your pockets for Monday.Here’s to good results.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Swgeewi:Hope you feel better soon – not fun.
Stride:Thinking of you.
Hugs and much love to you all and happy weekends.Pissing down rain here, so I have just finished cleaning my house, lit a fire and going to watch a movie.Toss up between Pulp Fiction (love Tarantino) or The Notebook…. Quite the contrast.

Hi friends,
Just got back from a crazy fun weekend watching DD coach that college team! Last game of season was in cold, windy terrible weather..they lost, but still good enough to get into end of season tournament..1 loss and out from here. On Sat. we went to Mt. Pleasant, MI. There is a big casino resort, so I mixed pleasure with pleasure..lol and we stayed there before game and had fun (no handpays, but will keep trying !) The game yesterday was soo exciting. We were underdog but won 2-1! So now they advance and play Miami of Ohio in Ypsillanti, Michigan, near Ann Arbor on Friday and if they would win that (they have never gotten this far in school history), would play in championships on Sunday!! I have dear friend coming in from Chicago on Weds to work with builder as they moving back here to Cleveland, told her I will leave Friday for game possible to SUnday but leave my house open to her and her hubby while we away...I feel badly but watching daughter coach these girls and spending time with hubby on these jaunts is priceless!!
Kslansky-Hope all goes well with mammo today and you get good news from your pet scan too!
Momof3- In your pocket tomorrow!! This is step one of being able to dance in your new home :} Let us know how you are doing as soon as you can! And take it easy wth the recoup!
Websister-I have never been to a "deportation"...looking so forward to yours!
Juneau-house closing party!! Why don't I lose any calories running to all these events?
Swgee-hope you are feeling better girl!! Being under the weather is no fun!
elieve-hope you are having sex on the beach--I mean the drink of course..lol.... and enjoying fun in the sun.....Hawaii sounds like a good place to get a dose of vitamin D!!!!
Hugs to all!! -
Hmm... wonder why my post went wonky?
Hugs everyone - just a quick check in from work
hope you are all good. xxxx

Hi all, just dropped in to say goodluck to. All with surgeries and those awaiting results this week and wish good luck to janeau and the move. You are all in my prayers.x
-
so the MO visit went well today. I told her about all the joint pain and she feels it is not SE from Femera, but she told me that once I have healed from surgery tomorrow she will let me stop Femera for 10 days to see if I start to feel better and if not then it is not the Femera. At least she is willing to do something.
I have to be at hospital tomorrow morning at 6 am for surgery at 7:30. At least it will be over soon. Sorry you have to get up so early, but it really helps me having you all with me.
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. I will keep you posted when I can.
Good luck with the house closing Juneabugg!!! I will be with you when I can. I am excited for you.
Hugs to everyone! -
No worries Momof3! I'll bring the coffee....fresh ground!
Thanks to all who were in my pockets these past few very loooong days!! I heard from my MO this evening. PET scan was good...nothing "lit" up! She is still concerned about the enlarged lymph node. She wants me to see BS and consider having it biopsied. I already have an appt scheduled for next week to discuss Mammo results, but will try to see if I can get in earlier. BTW,..I had my mammo today and after waiting, was taken back to have an ultrasound done. It brought back really bad memories of a year ago when I had my recall mammo and then had an ultrasound and a biopsy within 30 minutes.
Have a fantastic week! -
Momof3Great.....I'm with you tomorrow......sending you prayers and good vibes. I'm also on Femara
(Letrozole) and in the last couple of months I also have been experiencing a lot of joint pain. I've
heard that a lot of MOs don't want to blame it on our meds but I've read so many posts about women complaining of joint pain. -
thanks everyone for being with me today!!!! I am now home and sore, but manageable. I will update later once all the meds wear off.
Jen - how is your hand doing after all the signing today?
Hugs to everyone! -
Glad to hear good results from the PET kslanskyToo funny about the fire drill tho. Will keep my fingers crossed that it's just a poor little overworked lymph node that got left behind and has to collect all the garbage now.
Momof3, rest a lot and let everyone wait on you hand and foot. You deserve it!
I get a pass on my 'in between' mammogram this go-round. No mammos on the bad girl till 6 months after the fat transfer I had done in Sept. Of course I freaked out and called the BS right away because I'm scheduled to go in 3 weeks. They said she will probably do an ultrasound just to check everything. -
momof3 glad you are home and doing well. Now take it easy!!!
Kslanksy yes glad to hear the good news
Believe- yes have fun in Hawaii! I see lots of coconut drinks in your future.
I'm doing good go in tomorrow for my 1 week follow up. Wanted to share a funny picture of my shower prep. I haven't been able to get my new nips wet yet so my brilliant hubby came up with this wrap. Saran Wrap and a dish towel. Please don't hate!!! Lol -
Chrisrenee - Props to DH for creativity!! -
yes lots if props! He's something else. We've had to do lots of creative covering since last week. Sleeping on the other hand hasn't been that fun. I have these hard foam nipple covers on and they live around and just really uncomfortable as well. Along with the hard foam things I now have to wear another bra that's weird looking. I won't post the picture from the website but here's the website address: thongbra.com. I have to wear this 24/7 for the next 8 weeks. I'm ready for the next 7 to be over with. -
chrisrenee7-bless his heart for helping. He sounds like a keeper! -
jo2602- he is definitely a keeper. He's my soulmate and best friend, he's been by my side for the last 19 mos. would not have gotten through all this without him. He's wonderful. -
Christy.....you sure are rocking that Saran Wrap.......ha ha ha -
kslansky - congrats on the good news!
Christy - Love the Saran Wrap! My DH said we need to get it for my knee, but your wrap takes the cake. LOL I agree with you on DH being great and I could not have gotten through the last year and a half with out him!!!!!!
I am resting comfortably, but hate having to be waited on so much. I am usually the one waiting on others ( by my choice).
I can't wait to get the compression bandage off tomorrow afternoon. It goes from the top of my thigh down to my toes. It will be interesting to sleep tonight.
Hugs to everyone! -
chrisrenee: gotta agree with Scottie - you rock that look -
haha thank you!! I worked hard to perfect that. Lol. And I will add that it actually worked with keeping the water off too. -
so I just got my huge bandage off and feel much better already. I have to take it easy, but can loose the crutches also! I start PT next week, but there is really be pain today. It is just really stiff feeling. I have excersise a to do this week until I start PT and I just did them and they do not hurt either just make me tired. I am really glad I got this fixed and should be back to normal in a few weeks. I am also hoping my PT will be able to stretch my shoulders a bit also since that helped before.
Juneaubugg -I hope everything is going well with you and your new house. I am so excited for you!!!!!!! Don't hide behind the shed too long! haHa!!!!
Hugs to everyone! -
Momof3 - Great news! I'm sure you'll be running circles around most of us in no time!
Saw my BS today. He's not too concerned with my lymph node, thinks it should be sufficiently sterilized after chemo and rads but he (and my MO) would like to get it out and have it studied just to be on the safe side. So that out patient surgery is scheduled for next Thursday. Mammogram and Ultrasound came back good (except for the funky lymph node).
Thanks for all the support!

Hi all,
Love the look Chrisrenee!
Had lunch with a dear friend who has been fighting this beast for 7 years and is still having active treatment. She said her husband told her this past weekend he was looking to move out , just out of the blue. Thank goodness we have an awesome resource here in the form of a sex therapist who she was able to contact and who it sounds was able pulled him back to reality. I am guessing everything finally hit him after the latest results that showed the last version of treatment did not stop progression. But she is on another cocktail and we are all hoping this is the one. She has never been anything but positive through it all so it just pisses me off that he pulls this during her latest round. Hoping he doesn't end up following through down the road. Fortunately she has a network of friends that will be right there if something does happen. Feeling very fortunate that I have the husband I do. Wish I could do more for her though.

Aloha! Having a great time in Hawaii. My grandson hasn't stopped talking, too cute.
Chrisrenne - love the Saran Wrap attire, you rock!
Momof3 - hope you are doing heavy duty resting!
Kslansky - bad lymph node, getting rid of it sounds like a good idea. Everything else sounds great!
Iatigger - your friends husband sounds awful. I too am blessed with a DH who is a Saint, don't know how anyone could be so cruel. Good thing she has lots of other good friends - like you!
I'm available for all pocket parties. I will bring chocolate covered macadamia nuts!
Reading everything on my phone but not able to write much. Hard to do much with my chatter box around, loving this! -
Just popping in to say hi; too much happening since my last post so i'll just say in pockets and happy for good results! Today would have been a herceptin day - but i finished last time! First time in 14 months that 3 weeks have gone by without having to walk into that darn infusion suite. What a feeling! Doing my happy dance! Big gentle hugs to all! -
Laurie......so happy you are having a great time ......soooo jealous.....lol....it's on my wish list of places to go.
I JUST received my bracelet five minutes ago!!!!! You are truly an angel and the bracelet is exquisite.
I love the fact that "Scottiee" is incorporated into the bracelet, not to mention purple is my favourite colour. Thank you, thank you. It was a lovely surprise and it did bring a smile to my face. -
Like Ramols - popping in to say Hi but too much to catch up and comment on.
Believe - so glad that you are having a great time in Hawaii - I agree with the others, you truly are an angel, the bracelet is beautiful
Ramols - happy dancing with you, it didn't really hit home for me until the day I should have been going for my next Herceptin - wonderful feeling
Last Friday I met with a genetics counsellor - they are looking at two different genetic syndromes that I may have inherited, one they are strongly suspicious of in my case, they will review with a geneticist tomorrow; the testing for this is out of province so they need provincial approval to go ahead, first they have to rule out BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 so I had that blood test on Tuesday. Results take 6 - 9 months to come back, Tazzy I seem to recall that you were told a similar time period. In the meantime, they will advise my MO, RO, BS and GP of their suspicions so they can screen accordingly.
Good news is that tomorrow is the day I have my port removed, I will finally be able to sleep on that side.
Take care, everyone -
happy dance for Ramols and Websister (port removal) ... Certainly something to celebrate ....
Websister please keep us updated as to all your tests .... -
Happiness is: driving home in the minivan with my boys and seeing the most amazing, bright sunset against the grey raining sky and spectacular fall leaves - and having a great song come on that we all love and my 3 year old shouting "turn it up mom!" And driving around the neighborhood for a bit just to hear the rest of the song - turned up to top volume.
Remember the gift of life we all have and go find your happy today ladies! -
websister: Yes they told me six months - but it turned out to be more like 4. Happy dancing for your port removal.
ramols: beautiful story of finding your happy. Congrats on no more herceptin.
Happy Friday everyone. Looking forward to a 3 day weekend.
Hugs and love to all xxxxxxxxx -
Websister and Tazzy, SneakyChiquita on the Canadian thread just got hers back and it took 6 months here in BC.
I saw my PS yesterday to go over the plan for my T/E exchange Dec. 6. I was confused and distracted when I saw him in September and we are both glad I went back in as our discussion made for a change from the September plan. I will be getting Allergan 410's 375 size on both sides with fat grafting on T/E side. I will definitely end up with bigger boobs than pre BC! So 4 weeks from today and am excited in a way~~I know it is not the end but it is closer to a finale as I see it.
