Starting Chemo Cytoxan & Adriamycin Nov 2013
Hi First time here, I had my surgery in Oct still recovering and now have horrible nerve pain. I was given meds but still waiting for them to kick in and do there job. I had my port put in 3 days ago. My first round of Chemo will be starting on Nov 13th. Has any one else been given these drugs and how well did you do.

Hi Lilly!
I will be starting the same chemo as you Nov 20th. Had my port put in two days ago. Nervous yet anxious to start this leg of the journey. I have found this a great site for support and info. I try to check the boards every night before bed. Don't sleep as well as I used to so spend much of each night here.
Check out the Chemo November thread. For us ladies starting chemo this month, some have started already and can share their experience with you. -
Hi NorthwindsGS
How are you doing with your port? Mine was put into my neck where did they place yours. I will check out the November Chemo but not maneuvering around the site to well yet. I don't sleep either so I get up and start looking on the comp. Better then laying in bed looking at the ceiling. Good luck in your treatment I will write back to you after I have my first one. -
Hi!
Getting used to my port. I named it Nancy as years ago I had a Nancy in my life that wasn't the most pleasant person to be around however she was essential to me at the time and actually made life a little easier in the long run. Weird I know however I find humor helps these days, lol.
The placement of port was the easy part, I was under for all of it. My shoulder and neck were very sore the first couple days. The port bump is on the left side, bump is right below my neck also. I was given a prescription for the Emla cream to put on 45 minutes before Chemo time to help numb the area. Did you also receive the Emla cream?
Will be thinking of you this Wednesday! Stay strong and just think you will already be down one session and that much closer to being done with treatment! -
Hi,
Had my port placement on 11/13. Starting AC on 11/19. Hoping for the best for all of us!

Just finished my 3rd A/C treatment. One more to go on December 9th. Then I switch to 12 Taxol / Herceptin on Dec 30th. The first treatment was the worst for me. I couldn't quit vomiting.By the second treatment I had been given better guidance to take the anti nausea meds a couple of days before my chemo treatment. It has helped tremendously. I have not gotten sick since. I do run completely out of " go go juice" and just have to sleep. My first port wouldn't give blood back, so I had to have a second one put in which delayed my chemo. Other than looking a little like Ghandi with one breast, I am making it through!

I started A/C on November 6th. Round 3 on Dec. 5th. No major issues. Shaved my hair and got my wig today. Final round Dec. 19th.
