Tampa area BCO sisters get togethers

Hello all of my BCO Sisters!
I'm finished with the non-stop month of October! My son turned 16, Sunday, so we spent this last October weekend with relatives on the east coast of Florida! Whew! Having said that..............
I'm ready to have all of you here, in my "hood". How does the 16th of November sound for everybody? It would really help if we could have a Potluck Lunch/Brunch type of get together. I'll provide the beverages which will include a spiked punch! Please send me a PM so I can send you my address and phone number. Oh, I'm really hoping as many of you as possible will join us. These get togethers are my favorite part of having had breast cancer!!!

firework - the 16th works for me! -
SpecialK,
That's great! Hopefully this date will work for the group! -
Hi ladies.
My name is Leanne. Special K just told me about this group. I am new to the boards, but diagnosed in July - 1 week after my 43rd birthday.
I live in the Tampa area and looking forward to connecting with you, though I wish none of us had this reason to connect.

Leanne - yay! You're here! -
Welcome Leanne!
I too, am sorry that you find yourself diagnosed with bc . Although this is a great place to ask questions from people whom have been in your shoes. Everyone's journey is different but there is one thing we all have in common, it's great to have support! You'll find plenty of that here.
Please join us at our get togethers, if it's possible! This is a great group of women and we're always glad to have people join us.

The 16th is no good, will be working that day. Have t\ickets to take my Sister on the 9th since she's never been to one. CineBistro in Hyde Park, nice seating and serving....cloth esgtablishment, surreal! -
GalSal,
I'm sorry it's a "no go" for that date. Sounds like your plans for the 16th are top notch. Let's see how this date works out for enough of us. After all, <2 and I'll need to find another date!

I'll be physically moving items from Race Track Rd to the Sun Trust Centre, connecting up folks computers and programming their phones etc. No joy for that day. Will be wishing the whole time was with all of you! -
Hi...I just noticed you all as I was looking for information ...again....one of my BFFs who moved to Maryland is having bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders. I finished up my treatments in 2008 and have been doing well...I live in South Tampa..would love to keep in touch with you all! -
Barbeqrn, welcome! Watch the header as we get our plans in sync. We would love to have you join us. Right now, we are trying to see if November 16 works for most of us.
So far: SpecialK says yes, Galsal says no.
Roll call, everyone! November 16 at Firework's home, Pinellas County? -
LeanneF, welcome to our family! I hope you can join us at our next gathering and look forward to you joining us here, also. -
Um, I'm a definite maybe. Waiting to hear from Fl Warrior, and MaryLW. -
I'm a definite maybe, too! I want to come, but I won't know for sure until closer to the date. I need to see how I'm doing with SE's and how my daughter's doing. -
Did anybody besides Mary and I get a letter from Fl Cancer today? Mine was about plans affected, hers about info meetings. Grrrrrr -
When I went in to get my port flushed about a week ago they had signs up for meetings to explain the insurance situation. I had missed a meeting the night before but had a chance to ask the financial person as she walked through - my Humana plan is unaffected because it comes through Tricare, but it is the only Humana plan that will stay. My understanding is that it is Humana, not FL Cancer Specialists, that is making the change. FL Cancer Specialists is agreeing to treat for 6 months (I am guessing from the beginning of the year?) so that people have time to find another insurance plan or provider. -
I have to wait and see what the USF football schedule is that day. It is completely under the control of the networks to determine whether it is a noon game or a night game. -
I'm not sure yet about Nov 16. I'll check in later. -
I'm going to the USF/ Memphis game that day as well. Being a grad from both schools (USF bachelors/ Memphis masters), it is one game that I can't lose!
-
nbnotes - way to have both sides covered, that is so funny! -
I enjoyed everyone's post. I will not be able to attend on Nov. 16, my thoughts will be with you. -
how do you choose who to root for though, nbnotes? aquawaves, sorry to hear that. there will be others to attend though!
there's a possibility I'll be able to make it. we may work on the 17th not the 16th. count me in as tentative. -
Whichever one has the ball?? Sounds as good as anything, lol! When I was a graduate assistant with the band at Memphis, they would get jokingly mad at me because I would always wear my USF t-shirt under the required Memphis warm-up suit when they played each other in basketball. I really can't choose one over the other. -
enjoy the game then! -
I'll be there. Need to decide what to bring. -
Hello all ! and welcome to the newcomers posting!
fireworks, I really appreciate you hosting the get-together, and the 16th should be ok for me. Now the tough part...deciding what to cook.
edited to add.....football fans, I will miss seeing you ! -
Hi all! Welcome to the ones who have joined us. You have found a great group of ladies and lots of support for the road "we" travel.
The 16th is fine for me. Count me in.
Anyone watching the Bucs??? WHAT??? They are finally looking good!!! Just hope they can hold on to the lead this time!!! -
USF football game scheduled for 7pm. I am good for November 16 gathering.
Firework, let us know your details. -
Header updated, by the way. Please check for your name and let me know who to add. -
Feeling a bit nervous - our benefits are hitting open enrollment mid month.
