I think often of the ladies on this board who got me through a time in my life when no one else could help or understand. I just wanted to check back in and say hello. I am happy to see so many familiar names still on here and my heart goes out to those dealing with continuing stuff! It's been over 2 years and even though it seems normal has returned like many others I never returned to who I was before BC! I had a double mastectomy nipple reconstruction that ended up on one breast being a nightmare with several trips a week for months to a wound care specialist. I have neuropathy in my hands and feet that never went away. Other than that I have grown hair back out and gone back to teaching.

I can't thank all of you enough for all the love support and warmth.

Prayers to Pinkshirt, CJRT, Mags, Belle and anyone I missed. I tried to read back and catch up several pages. I will try and pop in more often.

I am hoping that silly wig picture doesn't pop up I forgot how to get pictures on and off of here. Hugs to all!! Raebob (Rhonda)

Rae/Rhonda, so happy to hear from you. I have thought about you often, wondering how you were doing. I hope your reconstruction issues are in the past! I don't have neuropathy but I have THIN hair. I know it's a small issue but let me tell ya,it Sucks:) I still have hopes but dang chemo sure can do a number on us!

Haha, you are out of luck, purple wig pic showed up:)) Brought a smile to my face and some good memories of you!!

I agree,I am not back to who I was before bc. After going thru what we have,I guess that is to be expected.

I'm glad you are back to teaching and your hair has grown back:)) Thank you for the prayers,I need all I can get Lol

In my thoughts and prayer, too. (((Hugs)))

Hey all, never thought I'd hear from Pink or Rae again, but it's good to hear from any of the old ladies on the site. About the same time I was released from my job I started developing headaches behind one eye. I thought I had a small stroke from cleaning house and moving big furniture. Then I thought maybe I had sinus disease. I do have sinus problems lifelong. No headaches. Headaches were off and on for 5 weeks and I reported it to oncologist. Brain MRI tonight. Results probably available tomorrow from oncologist. I was hoping for sinus disease. When I looked at the MRI tech, I didn't get good vibe, like all clear. It looked to me like a nice young woman who was praying, please don't ask me. Like I said earlier to Pink and CJRT, don't be afraid of coming back and saying what is going on, this is probably the best place to let it out.

hey Kimberly, glad to see you were able to create a new account. Not glad to hear you are having problems. Huh,headaches behind your eye,I've been having them, too,my right eye. But mine I associate with whiplash,I got a yr ago in a car accident. But I tell you the way my mind/memory has worsen in the last couple months,I might say something to my mo next month.

Sorry for talking about myself,I really hope and pray you get good results tomorrow. How are you doing, otherwise? Financially, emotionally since losing your job? I wish only the best for you in all aspects of life..(((hugs)))

I am really worried about Pink,I hope she checks in.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know what you find out..

Ugh, Kim, so sorry to hear about your headaches, and I obviously know about the anxiety of the waiting game and where your mind takes you. Hopefully you get good news soon. Please update us and know that we are here for you. Obviously my mets diagnosis has shown me not to minimize anything; however, the neuropsych testing that I do as part of my work has shown me that there are many less frightening explanations for your symptoms. One common one is what is called a cluster headache. Praying for you.

    Also thinking of pink shirt.

Thanks for being our rock, Belle.

hey all,Kimberly thinking of you and praying you get good news.

Hey,ccjj, how have you been doing? Good,I hope:))

Well, watched grandkids today and took 3 grandsons-2 5yrs and a 4 yr old trick or treating:)) and we walked!!! Had a blast-brought back a lot of good memories when my kids were little:)))

Need some prayers for my daughter-in-law,(she is more like a daughter) she found a lump-mammo and us showed solid,1 cm ,mostly well defined edges?. She had an appt today for a breast specialist, examined by phys asst, then after shivering in the oh so lovely gown for 45 mins, was informed he had to leave to help his partner in surgery but would be back. After another hr was informed he was still in surgery, she could leave and they would call tomorrow!!! She told them that's fine but he better be telling me he is setting up a biopsy or I'll find someone who will :)) That's my girl:))))

So she still knows nothing, she is so frustrated I think we can all relate to that. Lol I told her,I'm sorry but welcome to the hurry up and wait club!!

We are praying it is a fibroadenoma ,based on the well defined edges but the mostly part has us concerned. She lost her mother to lung cancer 20 yrs ago and her father to colon cancer the yr before I got bc. She was really there for me like the rest of my kids during my ordeal! I felt so bad for her because of what she went thru with her dad the year before. She spent the last few months with him, taking care of him in his home. Then I got diagnosed,I kept thinking she must feel like this is a nightmare,I told her that one day,she was like oh no,no. I said, well I do!! Lol

So please, say a few prayers for her and my son and their kids!!

Ugh! Belle, I will be praying for your daughter-in-law and son's family. I hate the wait and see club, but hopefully she just visits the club briefly before getting some good news. Praying for you too, as I can only imagine how hard this is on you, as well. Hugs...

A dear friend of mine (whom I have known since I was 15) was diagnosed last week. It's bringing back the memories of two years ago, but I at least can help her navigate this stage. I'll be traveling for a second opinion in two weeks to make sure we are hitting this with all that we've got!

Kim- Sending out prayers for you that you have gotten some good news and that they have been able to provide some pain relief for you.

ccjj- thank you for your kind words! hope that you are doing well!

thanks,Cjrt !! She saw the BS this am,biopsy is sched for Tues morning. He thinks it is fibroadenoma but can't say for sure til biopsy is done. If it isn't cancer it is up to her if she wants it removed-she does. He won't do a excisional biopsy because if it is cancer he would have to do a SNB. So he prefers to wait and see what it first. Hopefully,it is benign.

And yes, ugh,it does bring it all back... Not good!!!

Today, took my dad back to glaucoma specialist, the new drops haven't helped reduce pressure!! She said eventually he will have to have the laser treatment, offered and recommended to do it today. First, dad said yes then 5 min later it was no,I can't!! Arrrhh,we left, got downstairs,I was talking my head off, begging to just do it and get it done... He asked my mom, do you think I should? I gave her a look that was saying I am going to knock you off that chair if you say no-can u tell I was stressed, lol. She said I don't know,I turned to him and said I do know-it needs to get done you are tired of dealing with this, let's just get it done!! He agreed, back upstairs we went.

We get there, she calls back to Dr and oh my GOD,they couldn't do it. Because they only have 1 machine and after dad's appt the other Dr had it booked up for his patients!! So we go back Mon to get it done!! I am so stressed out dealing with this since April,if stress causes bc I can guarantee in a few months I will be diagnosed with bc again!!!

When I got back home I took an Ativan, called my mom and told her to not even think about canceling the appt!! She said ok Dr Mary Lea,I was like that's right and I mean it,this is getting done.

So please pray for me,I need it:)))

    Thanks for letting me vent!

I sure hope Kimberly gets good news!

Belle... Sending pos thoughts your way for b9 results for your daughter in law. Sounds like looking good so far. Good luck with your parents also. It's tough. I'm praying for you.

I'm doing well for the most part. My twins are now 8, 3rd grade. We had a fun Halloween. I'm still dealing with some reconstruction issues. I had a revision done in spring. They are much better, but the symmetry is now off. I'm scheduled for another revision 11/13. However, I had a second opinion on what needs to be done to correct it, and the 2nd ps said what is planned for the 13th won't correct it. So, I have a pre op appt Monday. I'll have to determine which way to go on this and which surgeon to trust. These plastic surgeons are driving me crazy. Right now one sits higher than the other. I don't expect perfection but its fairly noticeable in a swimsuit, or workout clothing.

Other than that, I recently graduated to seeing my onc every 6 months instead of 3 which is exciting. Not sure how well Im tolerating the tamoxifen. It's fine for the most part but I'm still sort of sluggish and just dont feel as sharp as I used to prior to bc and having a hard time losing the chemo weight. I had lost about 15 lbs 2 years prior to bc dx. It's all back now. My onc swears its not the tamoxifen. I wonder if I lost the weight back then because I had undiagnosed bc and my body was working hard to try and fight it thereby burning more calories. Who knows. I just keep trying to exercise and get used to it all.

CJRT- good luck with your 2nd opinion appt. I got 2nd opinions for all areas of my treatment, and found them all to be very helpful. Even if they recommended the same course, I would learn a little more and feel more confident about the direction I was headed. The only area I didn't initially get a 2nd opinion, was the plastic surgeon, and now really wishing I had put more thought into all that up front versus all these revisions.

Kimberly - fingers crossed for good news.

Hey,thank you for the prayers Ccjj and Cjrt . Dil had biopsy today, rad dr says looks good for fibroadenoma but won't know for sure til get the results on Thurs. My dad had his laser treatment yesterday, everything went well. He finally admitted his eye had been "bothering" him. Hopefully, after it heals the eye pressure comes down. So glad,it is over, still a few more follow up visits. I can handle that,it was the stress of trying to get him to do it before the pain got bad that was hard! Again, thank you...

Ccjj, twins :)) I bet you have your hands full at times:)) . Sending positive thoughts and prayers for your reconstruction. I hear ya on the weight but I can't blame it in meds as my bc is triple neg,so no pills. I just like to eat:)) and don't exercise enough. I was walking 3 to 4 miles a day but went on vacation, can't seem to get back to it. Just feel real tired all the time, sucks because for a few months my energy was back!! Maybe it's the change in weather!!

belle...hooray on you dil...that is superfantastic.

ccjj...I understand recon issues all too well....next up for me is Dec 4th...think she is working on my behind where leftie came from...gotta restuff the cheek. Also have a suspicious lump in leftie that needs to be taken out and sent to path. 3 docs are saying that it is just a cyst...perhaps necrosis from fat grafting...but I want it checked yesterday...sigh....hope that you get it figured out....go with your gut when it comes to doc choice...that is my philosophy....gotta like who is in charge of keeping you alive while under !

cjrt...you sound so upbeat all the time....thank you for you fabulous attitude...it really is inspiring.

good to hear from you maggie! will be sending positive thoughts that you get good news fast and that your Dec. surgery goes well. and thanks, glad to hear that i normally sound positive because today i am really annoyed. i know tomorrow will be a better day and i'm sick so that clouds my outlook, but i just got a phone call canceling the second opinion appt i have scheduled for next week that i've been waiting on for 4 weeks. keep in mind i have already made flight, hotel, rental car arrangements, had hubby take off work, and my mom be here to spend the night with the kids. i wasn't even offered any new appointment with the doctor on a different date. instead, i was given an option of seeing her fellow on another day five days later (which requires $700 in increased air fare b/c of the flight change and lack of advanced notice). so incredibly annoyed at the lack of professionalism when it came to correcting their mistake and the delay it has caused me in pursuing other options. sorry! rant over!!

On another note, went to a Halloween party at my daughter and SIL a couple wks ago. Saw a pic of me,my head was turned.OMG my hair is so THIN in back,I knew it was thin in one area but it looks like the area has gotten way bigger !!!! CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!!!!!

hey all,I hope everyone is doing well and busy Xmas shopping Lol

I have an appointment with a pulmonoligist on Tues,Christmas Eve. Had CT scan of chest due to shortness of breath. Long story short, have mild fibrosis of right upper lobe of lung due to post radiation changes of lung, signs of air disease and air trapping in both lungs. Mmmm, guess my New Years resolution will be to quit smoking!!!

Went Xmas shopping with one of daughters today, had a good time. Note to self, next year don't do all of your Xmas shopping in one day:))) Some of those people out there are downright crazy and rude, let alone their driving!!! There were some close calls,we saw 3 or 4 almost potential accidents!! And we were almost rear ended except my daughter swerved into turn lane to avoid getting hit!! I was glad to get home:))

I am wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Be safe, enjoy your family and friends this Holiday Season and thru out the New Year:))

Hey everyone,I have graduated to 6 month checkup with my MO!! I am ready, getting real tired of Drs. Now I am seeing a pulmonoligist (small airways disease),echocardiogram showed impaired relaxation of left ventricle dystolic function so now I have to see a cardiologist on the 26th bah humbug!!!

I am ready for spring,I can see the green tips of my daffodils peaking up so hopefully not long:))

2 of my daughters are expecting babies,1 in late July,1 in Sept!! I love my grand babies,I'll have an even dozen!!!

    Hope everyone is doing great:))

Belle- congrats on "graduating"!! Sorry to hear about the other medical issues but hoping the cardiologist appointment brings good news and a nonconcerning diagnosis or plan. Congrats on the impending new arrivals! So glad to hear such happy news

I think of you ladies often. I recently had two friends diagnosed who started the same chemo regimen i was on back in 2011. It reminded me of how you ladies helped me through those very tough, dark days. I am "fighting the fight," as they say. I've fully recovered from my hip replacement, and my current treatments are very manageable. Recent scans were optimistic, and I am loving my life. At this point, I am back to working out, and no one would guess my diagnosis. However, cancer and fear have a way of permeating even the good minutes, and it is so unfair of what this disease takes from so many. It's very hard living from scan to scan, but I am making the best of things, getting involved with a foundation for cancer patients and using my psych education and work to apply to people facing medical challenges.  I'm praying that treatment continues to allow me to function well and be around for my kiddos and hubby.  Wishing you all health and happiness.

Cjrt,my pulmonoligist says he believes my lung and heart problems will clear up when I quit smoking. Hopefully, cardiologist agrees! I'm planning on getting an e-cigarette (vapor) to help me quit, one with no nicotine !

I originally went to pulmonoligist because a cat scan showed scarring/fibrosis from radiation. Thankfully,2nd more detailed cat scan showed no fibrosis,no emphysema, etc! Just air trapping suggesting small airways disease, lung functioning is good/normal!

Sorry to hear about your friends, cancer sucks!!

Glad to hear, you are doing well! As you have probably noticed on FB,I and my family have gotten involved with Relay for Life Lol

I am glad to have reached the 6 month check ups,esp having to go to the other Drs. Hopefully,I will only have to go to them a couple of times.

Every once in a while, the fear of the cancer returning freaks me out! But thank god,it doesn't last long. No use worrying about it until if and when it happens!

I hope we hear from some of the others, esp Pinkshirt,I think of her often!
