How the hell do you do it?? You never cease to amaze me. I love it!!
-
oh great...........beerspit all over the new computer screen.......limey hobbie boy will have a convulsion any minute!
-
Oh I had to show my hubby that one too. I need a nickname for him. Never had one, 'bout time I come up with one.
-
For Shel...

what the hell are you doing watchin the brady bunch??????? good lord woman, it must be some hot in socal tonight lol!
And I thought I was pathetic by watching TLC on a Saturday night! -
You know everything is just a bit better with a little Merlot.
-
well pick one of mine if you like.......here goes!
merv.....if i want something
elvis......if he needs a haircut
schroder.......if i want him to play the piano
hobbie boy.......if he's been away to long
major tom......if he's going to fly his plane
limey......if he's had a couple of drinks (sloppy drinker)
bill.......if he's getting on my nerves
mic........if i want to get some action
captain fantastic......when i'm on him about cheating on me
lil.....when he crys at sad movies
i can't think of the rest, but i'm dead serious....mike and my family know what kind of mood i'm in based on the nickname i use for them at the time! i rarely ever actually use anybody's real name.....at work they call me and leave messages using the nicknames i have for them.......i'm areal wierdo lol, but its fun! -
That's great. Wish I were creative enough to think of some. I remember when I was in high school, my hubby and his chums had nicknames for everyone, including the teachers. It was hilarious although I'm sure that they offended quite a few back in the day. Question - Why Captain Fantastic about cheating?? I would pick something more like F##k%R!!
-
lol.......i think maybe captain fantastic is like a slap......like "you're not all that you just think you're captain fantastic"......actually i'm not sure how or why i come up with this shit but i'll tell you one thing......nobody ever wonders what i'm thinking when i use their goofy names. i think what happens is i use some dumb phrase initially during whatever is going on at the moment and then in my mind that name or phrase sticks forever......ok ok enough about my warped mind.......how did the brady bunch beach vacation end?
and as my closing ha ha.....my neighbour "toothless ruby" (her name is barb and she has teeth).......see what i mean? i digress, toothless ruby calls me marcia soooooooo my daughter thinks its hilarious and does the brady bunch classic "marcia, marcia, marcia" everytime old toothless calls me over the fence.
ok i gotta go inside the mosquitos are feasting on me and i definitely need to grab a beer and chill........thanks for the great laughs girls, there is a lot to be said for our "connections" -
Okay, I'm picturing white trash when you call her toothless ruby. And you, I'm picturing a cute, little petite blonde.
-
boy lini you're pretty good......."tothless ruby" is this lady who lives in a friggin manor on a beautiful cul de sac, her hubby does everything for her and her kids and grandkids are like wild banshees.......she sits on her patio sun up to sundown drinking beer while her yorkies yap yap yap......i bust my ass landscaping my yard while her weeds grow through my fence and her arbour leans up against it. when she sees me outside busting it she says "marcia, don't get the weed spray on my 'award winning irises', or marcia, ask the kids not to splash the chlorine out of the pool on my 'award winning irises'"..........the only thing winning awards in her yard are the weeds lol!
and btw......i am really "little" but not blonde........yet (i don't have enough hair to dye)
omg i have too much time on my hands tonight!!!!! -
last thing and then I'm off for the night. I do have one nickname for mine that I can think of. There are probably more but one is "No-shit Sherlock" for when he is a real dumb ass.
-
perfect!!!!!!! i'll bet you don't have to use it often though lol!
-
Kansas Well Water
1 fifth vodka
1 fifth gin
2 liter bottle Squirt
2 liter bottle Sprite
Sliced lemons & limes
Mix it all together & chill. I like it best if it's slightly frozen (slushy) then stirred up a little bit before putting in glasses. If you use cheaper gin, or don't like the taste of gin, you may want to use a little less of that. Ronda -
You must be getting what we had until Friday this week. We had 112 one day, and still 109 when I got home at 6:00. Miserable. Cooled off on Fri. & today a bit though.
-
oh ronda we call that swamp water......its sooooo good!
we pour it over a watermelon halved in a clean rubbermaid bin, then scoop the melon out and dip our cups in the swamp water......time for a good ole fashioned bbq around here!.......thanks for the reminder, beer gets boring lol! -
I am drinking what I thought was a good savignon blanc until I read your post, and now my wine seems BORING....
Swamp Water sounds like LOTS more FUN!
Maybe I'll whip up a batch tomorrow.
Donna -
Swamp water of well water, whateveryacallit - it'll knock ya on your butt faster than you think. It looks pretty innocent, and with the right gin (I like Tanqueray) it tastes pretty innocent also. It's like lemonade. Ronda
-
oh yeah ronda.........its an ass kicker!!!!!! but whatever anybody does MAKE SURE you use the squirt, its not the same without it (i've tried).........and make sure you have no plans to drive lol!
-
Ronda - where ya been? Glad to see you posting?
-
Christine - Hate to admit I'm such a wimp, but I've been sooooo tired! I can't believe how tired I've been. I haven't even been on the computer at all for days. Friday I didn't have to work (should have, to make up time, but I didn't). I woke up at 9:00 am the first time, went in & turned on the coffee pot, laid back down & woke up again at 11:00. And I had gone to bed at 10:00 the night before. Just wore out I guess. I've been so tired Doug even pops the tops on my beer for me. ha! Ronda
-
Christine - another thing - where in MO are you? Are you close to the KC area by any chance? We're trying to plan a camping trip to Hillsdale State Park in a few weeks, it's south of Springhill, not to far from KC. Just wondered if you were close to there. Ronda
-
OMG Shel...I thought you had 3 different men!!! All those names had me confused. I thought it was an ex, a current hubby and a "Hobby Boy" on the side...and you saying you didn't have much energy **Grin**
I kept thinking "DAMN that girl has more energy than me for sure!"
Deb C.
Who is frequently CLUELESS! -
ha ha ha deb.......you're not clueless at all.........most would say I am the clueless one lol!
-
Ronda, that drink sounds dangerous! I'll leave all the other ladies here to try it as I'm too old and wimpy to!
Hope your energy level picks up soon! I was very tired for about 6 months post rads which I couldn't figure out as I was post everything and thought I was on the up-swing, KWIM?, but now I'm back to pretty much my old energy level.
Welcome back!
Janis L -
6 months? Ok, I guess I don't feel quite so wimpy - just finished rads 6/15. I'll try to be patient I guess.
Yeah - that drink is dangerous. But damn it tastes good! It makes pampered chef parties a whole lot more fun. haha! Ronda -

Ronda,
Sorry to sound so ignorant but what is "SQUIRT"?
Here in Québec, where French is the "numero uno" language, is there a 'name brand' for this stuff so I'd know what to buy?
The recipe sounds great and would like to try it?
In my much younger days we used to do the Swamp water with the watermelon but we'd only cut a small hole in the melon and add a 40 oz of gin - try and let it ferment for afew hours and voila - ready to drink - with a straw mind you!!! -
Squirt is a grapefruit flavored soda, I believe made by Coca-Cola.
-
When we were really young, too young to be drinking, you know HS age- Gin and Squirt was the popular thing. (so was Rum and Coke or even worse Southern Comfort & Coke)
Squirt taste a little like a Fresca. -
I remember southern comfort, how 'bout sloe gin. Oh, yuck!! Brings back some nasty memories.
