Suspected brain mets -- double vision -- help!

Options

Hi everyone,

A routine trip to the eye doctor has thrown me into despair. I am triple position, 5 years out. Started having problems with distance-related double vision a few years ago which has become suddenly worse. Doctor says I must have an MRI because these symptoms could be the result of a brain tumor. Very frightening because my targeted therapy, herception, cannot penetrate the blood/brain barrier, such that her2+++ cancers often metastasize to the brain. Does anyone have any experience with similar symptoms?? Would brain mets cause more symptoms than these? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Siisis, I don't have any info for you, but I wanted to send good wishes. I hope whatever is causing this turns out to be something benign and easily treatable.

How kind of you to reply, Leah. I see you are almost at your 5 year mark, too!!! Let's cross all fingers and toes for us both.

It's Tuesday morning, and yesterday I received a call from the radiologist saying that the contents of my brain cavity were "entirely unremarkable." I think that's the first time that being told anything of mine was "unremarkable", much less "entirely unremarkable", made me jump for joy!! Thank you all for your kind words -- and let's continue to believe that our cancer diagnosis does not define us.

    siisis,

I am so glad to see your good news. I'm lurking around this thread because I'm in the home stretch of a treatment that looks just like yours (TC-H, for triple positive), and just starting to worry about every little ache and pain. (For example my back is starting to hurt, but I also realize I have been carrying a growing-heavy special needs child who had hip surgery, so that COULD be the reason, right?) I see that you are five years out, which is great. Let it be 50!
