Scared and now waiting for the biospy.
Guess I was just waiting to be diagnosed-since my mom and two of her sisters have had this. My turn, now for the biopsy and going down that road. In a way it's a relief, and in another I'm terrified. Can't say why me-because again, it was a matter of time. With the other health problems I've had-I knew there was a definite end and course of treatment. But, having worked in a hospital for over 30 years I know well that this is a very uncertain road for me. But, I do have hope-all of the aunties and my mom have survived. But I am so scared-can't sleep well and I'm one of those who don't eat when really stressed. I know I need to eat and rest-very important right now...but how? I won't be unrealistic and think I don't have cancer.

I'm sorry, timeheart! Assuming you have a lump? I will keep you in my prayers! Please let us know what you have done and when.

Yes, I do have a lump-and it had blood flow to it on the ultrasound-not a good thing. Just hoping that we have found it soon enough. The biopsy is this Friday. This is tough-but I am ready to get my game plan and beat up Cancer.
-
timeheart, you have the right frame of mind going in, I had my cry and then I began to fight, saying each nite" cancer you WILL leave my body, and with God first, my Faith and family support, and great docs, I am now a 19 yr Survivor, and you and us all are daily in myprayers. msphil(idc,stage2, 0/3 nodes, L mast, chemo and rads and 5yrs on ramoxifen) -
the biopsy was really easy. Now to see the surgeon. It is invasive ductal with a lobular appearance. The waiting for appointments right now is the hardest. I got to talk with my primary care physician and he told me that later that day or athe following I would be contacted for a surgical appt. when they hadn't called by. 4 pm the second day, I was burning up the phone line . I've started a journal to keep up with dates people appointments and contact numbers. Also going to used iPhone to take pictures to help my memory. And I've decided to tell the surgeon to do total mastectomy on both sides. I had already made peace with that years ago when I realized this could happen. Thank you for listening. -
biopsy done and that was very easy. Now waiting again to see the breast surgeon. I'm going to tell them do a double mastectomy with the reconstruction. My sweet and crazy husband says go for it. And then he asked what size squeezie toys I would get - yep he's funny. Just now am ready to get started, this piddling around is just not my style. -
Good for you Timeheart! You know what you want and have a good attitude about it.
A year ago I was waiting, "impatiently" for my biopsy results, piddling around was never my style either!I can't believe how far I have come since then.
I read an interesting line today, in an interview with Dr Kristi Funk, Angelina Jolie's surgeon, she said "To a large extent, I feel recovery reflects expectation!" My surgeon said something similar to me. I didn't quite "get it" at the time, but I had a generally, very positive experience with surgery and recovery.
I wish the same for you! Let us know how you are doing!
