Advance Hormone Resistant Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. Metastatic, lymph node, bone lesions, soft tissue involvement. Male_54 yrs old. PSA 24.

Surfing the sight once again this evening- fantastic -personal anecdotes on what to expect for side effects Taxotere regimes. I have benefited greatly from this site. CHEMO HAS TRANSFERRED ME INTO AN OLD SICK BALD DUDE. I've skipped middle age.Have jumped from youngish 52 YR old, happy fit, successful father of two teens - to grief filled old guy now trying to balance Q.O.L vs QAUNTIY OF LIFE DECISIONS. Is the Emperor of Maladies as bad/or better than the cure? Knowing what you know now would you go down the same road?


KNOCK KNOCK: WHO'S THERE? NOT YOUR WHITE BLOOD CELLS OR HAIR,THAT'S FOR SURE.


I truley wish all the members speedy recoveries, and appreciate all they have generously shared for others. 4th infusion in the morning. I received precious little forewarning what I had in store for me. Whereas this site has been invaluable reading first hand the good, the bad and the ugly.

    Dean - I had Taxotere also, 6 treatments finishing up 9 weeks ago. I wont lie to you, the last three treatments were the hardest. Lots of fatigue, indigestion, no taste buds. I felt like I was crawling across the finish line. But I want you to know that within 1 month after chemo I was feeling 100% better....not all at once but a little better each day. I have had some "latent" SE's which have shown up after finishing chemo (Taxtoere is famous for these)....such as toe nails falling off and some finger and toe nueropathy. None of which have been too bad though. My energy is almost back to normal and I feel good again - so it does get better. I know its tough when you are in the middle of treatment to believe that.
