Just Diagnosed on October 1st... So Many Feelings....
I was diagnosed on October 1st with Breast cancer... after a long fight with my doctor to even get tests done because of a swollen Lymph node I had. (I wrote about it my profile area)... The biopsy was of both the mass in my breast and a nearby Lymph node, so right away we knew it had already spread to the Lymph nodes... I was diagnosed as Invasive ductal.. grade 3.. spread to lymph nodes. After a bone Scan, MRI and pet Scan, they called it stage 4 spread to the bones. I don't get the official biopsy of the bone until Tuesday the 29th but they are 99% sure it's in the bone because of those 3 test results... I start Chemo on the 31st. It's been a long month. I am scared, mad and just in shock. I started a website and blog right away when diagnosed because I want to document the journey for others but sometimes feel I can't fully express my feelings there because my family reads it and I don't want to upset them. I have joined one other online community but felt another one or two couldn't hurt. We all need as much support as we can get. My website is allisonscancerjourney.org and it includes a link to my blog if anyone wants to know more about story and journey so far.

Hi honey, I am real sorry about your diagnosis. However, you did come to the best place for love and support. These women here are great. They helped me a lot when I was diagnosed in 2006. Allison, I know your scared. Are you having any surgery? Or, just the Chemo? Allision, you can come here to express your feelings as much as you can. It is a good way to release those inner feelings of being scared. Thank You for putting your website together too. It is a good way to reach out to other breast cancer women. If you have any questions, feel free. I am here.
Take Care, Kaloni -
I am sorry you find yourself among us. I remember what it felt like at first....the beginning was the worst part. I also blog but I chose to keep my blog from my family and friends. I have never told them the name of it so I don't believe anyone in my circle has read it. This allows me to write what I want and not feel worried about who reads it. Just know though that you can come here and write anything you like. We all "get it" and are here to support each other. Best of luck to you and hugs! -
Allison - I'm so sorry you find yourself here. The other ladies have given you great advice. We can be pretty good listeners here, so please come back often. Gentle hug. -
Hi Allison, and welcome to Breastcancer.org.
We're so sorry is this reason what brought you here, but so glad you found us. As you can already tell, BCO is a wealth of support and knowledge.
Besides this thread, you may be interested in also posting in the Stage IV forum. Members there have a ton of advice and experience managing the ups & downs of a Stage IV, and they are also very welcoming and wonderful.
We hope this helps!
