Firstly I'm so glad to have found this site. Was diagnosed with lcis a month ago and 8 weeks after biopsy I have a large lump developing in same breast I'm terrified they have missed something. I have to wait until 8th November for ultrasound. Is it possible for lcis to change into cancer so quickly?

LCIS is very controversial; some physicians regard it as a stage 0, non-invasive bc (which is actually is pathologically), while others feel it is more of a marker for higher risk of invasive bc in the future (even oncologists disagree). But it generally does NOT become invasive bc; if an invasive bc is found near or soon after a biopsy, it was probably already there and missed initially. But yours could easily be a hematoma or seroma---a bruise filled with fluid caused commonly by the biopsy itself. Since it has only been 8 weeks, and you have a large developing lump, it most likely is one of those 2 issues and not anything serious. If it is, they will probably see it on the US and then aspirate it right then.
