Another view of us on the line -
Great photos, cheryl! You look marvelous! And what a beautiful flowering tree in the background. -
I agree, you do look wonderful. Are the flowering 'trees' that Mrs M referred to, Crepe Myrtle bushes? We have them here in NC but they bloom here in the summer. We are getting the cooler temperatures that help the trees start the change to the fall colors.
Sheila -
Great pix, Cheryl, I will have to watch the show again to see if I can spot you! Elizabeth & Val's Argentine tango was fantastic. That's the first time I've ever really liked that dance. Great choreography and they are so sharp together. Corbin & Karina's paso doble was top-tier. Did you catch Tom's snarky side comment, "Bruno really knows his bull" LOL. Amber & Derek were a pleasure to watch as usual. Heard "Carry On" by FUN. on the radio today and know it will always remind me of Valerie Harper, her big smile, and Tristan saying her full name in his lovely Irish lilt. ♥
-
I watched the show again, but couldn't find Cheryl. -
haha, I can tell you I'm not easy to find, but when Derek and Amber finish their dance the camera pans all the way around, we stopped the DVR and knew exactly where to look - top balcony, center, my friend Nina has a white jacket on and there's me with my white hair ..... One millionth of one second, my claim to fame -
at least it was whole-body! My claim to fame is my left shoulder -
2nd time but you were "on the floor" I was in the clouds!!! Forgot to tell you the flowering plant behind us in the line is a Bouganvilla, they grow prolifically here in So Cal and come in pink, white, orange and red they are pretty but deadly they have big thorns on them so you have to be careful, I have one in my back yard that I keep trimmed but I wear gloves up to my elbows when I hack away at it...... -
hi Cheryl, I wasn't on the floor - don't I wish! (that appeared to be VIP's and fashionistas). We were mid-section of middle tier.
Bougainvilleas, once you have them, can't get rid of them! But they are very pretty and heart -
Who's the floor-side rep tonight? -
I would love to volunteer!!! -
Ruth, we'll have to see what happens for next year....
I got sent an invite for guaranteed priority seating for Let's Make a Deal, but I'm not interested in dressing up in costume. -
In related news, I just read that former DWTS professionals Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo, who are married, are expecting their first child. Edyta was one of my fav professionals, she had the sweetest personality plus a killer bod. Alec danced with Kelly Monaco in the very 1st season of DWTS (I was not a fan at that time) but they went on to win the competition that time.

SHOW TIME -
Shocked and not that happy. -
thanks, Divine, I remember Edyta. So happy for them.
And thank you all for not revealing results - show hasn't even started here on the west coast -
Where's that surprised (shocked!) emoticon when you need it?
-
Well, I was surprised and disappointed!
My favorite dance of the night was Corbin. I haven't been too big on him because of his previous dance experience, but his whole routine had me mesmerized. Beautiful.
I also thought Amber had a great dance routine and Jack as well. And I actually loved Snooki's routine. I think I'm a fan of her's on the show because I never watched Jersey Shore. But she really has some great dance moves and a bit of attitude which I think serves her well. My very least favorite was Leah, for some reason I cannot stand her and I thought her performance was very lackluster. Elizabeth Berkley's routine wasn't that impressive either.
Brooke Burke's dress was rather odd looking and I even kinda laughed when I saw her. -
I think the new way of scoring, using last week's votes is what screwed Christina. I still don't like the new, 'hurry up' format.....
I also loved Corbin. They looked like dancers in a music box. My second favorite was Brant....very nice, flowing lines. I am happily surprised with Snookie. She is a very good, energetic dancer. Amber & Jack both did well. Elizabeth not so much, and Leah NO! -
I really thought Leah should have the one to go. I sometimes think when the better dancers get eliminated too soon it is because fans don't vote for them thinking they'll be safe and vote instead trying to keep a lessor talent an extra week or two. You could see that Leah expected to go. I did feel sorry for them having to see the shocked and dissapointed reactions.
-
haven't had a chance to watch the entire show yet as I'm watching it online but got home last night and did see the elimination live, Chabba I think you're right in that assessment I was shocked that she got eliminated and how come if she got the highest scores were her numbers so low from last week that they didn't matter, I just don't get it because essentially she was eliminated at the beginning...... -
Hello everybody. I tripped on this thread and ill just jump in if you all dont mind! My favorites sre Amber and Jack. Amber really can move. And I have loved the Osburnes for a long time. The kids have really grown up amazingly. I too thought Leah should go. I want Derick paired up next year with a "shopping cart" type dancer. He always gets the great dancers and then gets points detucted from the scores cause he wont follow the rules. His partners suffer. But I hopr thisbyear Amber wins. She seems ds sweet and happy just to be there.
Ok, im done now... LOL.
Much love to all. -
I wonder why they made the announcement at the beginning of the show that a 'female' dancer would be voted off. Why narrow it down like that? It seemed odd. -
mean, really.....totally pressure the ladies & I would think it would throw off the guys too. -
Did anyone else see the quick shot of the judges looking particularly shocked/somber with Bruno shaking his head? Do you think they have a clue who is going home? I was not particularly impressed either with Elizabeth or Leah. Imagine the judges will have some verrry interesting comments next week. -
It was a strange dancing with the stars if you ask me. I'm not liking the way things were handled with the whole show. I hate to see anyone leave but that is the show. I think that one of the other dancers should have gone but......how many times does this happen and we are in shock at who leaves. -
They are basically already voted off before they even dance. Not right. -
Yes, Ruth, that seems to be the case. How much better would Christine have had to score to stay in the game?
Now there's another voting problem, some kind of glitch with the phone numbers: http://www.today.com/entertainment/voting-error-could-shake-results-next-episode-dancing-stars-8C11397316
It still seems to me like they're flying by the seat of their pants with each show. -
hi Monica, welcome!
Hey paragraphs are BACK yay!
Brooke's outfit reminded me of something a female android would wear, on the original Star Trek. Sorry to see Christina & Mark go. Maybe their foxtrot last week wasn't their best dance because she's not 'elegant' but she danced her *ss off this week. Not a fan of the new scoring scheme. Elizabeth & Val had high energy and he's always great to watch but I wasn't crazy about their jive. Hands-down fave this week was Corbin & Karina, lovely foxtrot. Honorable mentions to Jack & Cheryl, Amber & Derek, and Nicole/Snookie & Sasha. Brant & Peta dance well but he doesn't seem sincere to me, like DWTS is an acting job and he's wooing the crowd. Bill & Emma did a good job (I like his wife!) and sorry Tony, Leah should be the next to go.

hmmm......that was strange.......
