hi!!! I had my bilateral mastectomy 1 year ago October 26th...finished chemo on March 20th. Still doing Herceptin until April.
I just had my first physical since diagnosis and was told everything was normal. Why am I feeling so anxious about that?
I have a breast revision surgery coming up Wednesday...but not nervous about that (what's another surgery, right?) A colonoscopy on November 7th, kind of nervous about that - but it is my first one.
Is this normal?
Also I have had balance issue for a while now. I thought it was because I wasn't getting enough sleep (bipolar and I know there are sleep issues on Arimidex. my dr took me off the Ambien because it wasn't working anymore. He put me on trazadone and I am sleeping great now!!! But I trip over nothing..step sideways sometimes and have so many bruises you can play connect the dotsI wear glasses for reading per the eye dr's orders.....
My short term memory is getting worse too WAY WORSE! -
I am on Gabapentin and have some physical clumisness and cogntive difficulties.
Meds like Trazedone have similar side effects:(http://www.drugs.com/sfx/trazodone-side-effects.html)
More common- Blurred vision
- confusion
- dizziness
- dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
- lightheadedness
- sweating
- unusual tiredness or weakness
Less common- Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
- confusion about identity, place, and time
- decreased concentration
- fainting
- general feeling of discomfort or illness
- headache
- lack of coordination
- muscle tremors
- nervousness
- pounding in the ears
- shortness of breath
- slow or fast heartbeat
- swelling
Rare- Skin rash
- unusual excitement
Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur while taking trazodone:
Symptoms of overdose- Drowsiness
- loss of muscle coordination
- nausea and vomiting
- painful, inappropriate erection of the penis, continuing
If you are also on Bipolar Medications, they could be interacting and make side effects worse for you. I would report these symptoms to your dr. Unfortunately, most medications that help you sleep have side effects that will effect you during the day.
Sometimes we have to choose between side effects and the medications.
Over the summer, a CT scan found a large lung mass and swollen lymph nodes. I was floored when I found out I had to have lung surgery (my third in five months all unrelated). But I was not nervous about it at all. And I was extremely calm about waiting for the test results. I think some times, some of us find ways to remain extremely calm about things. We are all different and handle things in our own way. It doesn't mean one way is better than others but staying calm, is a blessing, but certainly not abnormal. -
I see a psychiatrist for meds and he is the one that put me on it. I will ask him though thank you!!! -
You should have been given a list of side effects from the pharmacy when you picked up your prescription. -
Hi ConnieGreen,
I finished Cytoxan/Taxotere the end of July and I am still "wobbly". I find myself having difficulty changing directions or stopping, then starting out again, like when in a crowd. I am not sure how long this should last, but my MO said that you should consider side effects may last for as long after chemo as the chemo lasted. You are still on Herceptin, so what you are experiencing could be normal. But it doesn't hurt to ask your MO about it.
I hope you feel better and are less anxious. It sounds like you are getting lots of good news.
Love, MsP -
thank you all!
