If you are told you have to have Taxotere please, ask questions.

You want to know the stats for permanent hairloss with this drug.

Please dont be fobbed off with the normal reply of 'its very rare' or 'i have never seen it' - if this is thier reply ask to see the % in writing, ask to see were they get thier info from etc and PLEASE ask them (if they say its rare) what their % is rare because in Europe rare is LESS than 0.01%.

It is only when pateints start asking these questions that oncs will stop fobbing us off with lies.

Ask for something in writing about the % etc be forceful even if you dont feel like it, you can always ask someone you are with to take over for you.

Women all over the world are being lied to about this side effect - its being brushed under the table as not important but let me say it IS important.

It might not make you change you mind about having this drug, thats your choice, but its putting abit pf pressure on the drugs company (Sanofi Aventis) to stop hushing this side effect up as its effecting an alarming amount of women and its def NOT RARE. I dont believe at least 1 in 16 is rare do you!

NO, damn it I don't think thats rare!!  Can you tell me where you got this info about Taxotere?  This was not brought up to me at all by my onc.  He said I would lose my hair, which I understood, but there was nothing said about ANY risk that it would never come back!!  Are you sure about this?

Rather discouraging news as I sit here bald and alien looking.

We have collected lots of data over the years that prove sanofi non disclosure.

We have records of studies that were carried out years ago that prove it was over 3% (which put it in the classification of common and frequent) but better still another document that we questioned SA about. They LIE to us about the % because after  we looked closer the majority in the study were not even given Taxotere!!! making the % over 6%, they thought it was to their advatangae to add hundreds of people to the study that didnt take Taxotere to bring the %down, little did they know we would notice!

    justjudy,

I finished Taxotere 6 weeks ago and I have hair sprouting all over my head. Not to say some people aren't affected adversely by the drugs - but for the majority, hair returns just fine.
