hi Sheila, I can meet just about any Saturday in Sept & Oct. Anyone else up for a jaunt?
I'll send you a PM with contact info since I don't give my hometown out here. PM's are private but the thread is not. You may want to edit your above post and remove the name of your street my dear, our posts are searchable on the internet and you never know who's looking.
Brewery tours are 10 am to 4 pm daily and I work M-F in Madison so weekdays are out and IDK but somehow it seems wrong to tour a brewery on a Sun LOL. So that's why I'm thinking Sat.
As to New Glarus Brewing, I love their Fat Squirrel Nut Brown Ale but my new favorite is Two Women lager. It tastes good and the concept is one I want to support. Here's from the label: "Four thousand years before Christ, Sumerian women created the divine drink of beer. Viking women brewed in Norse society. European Ale Wives were so successful as cottage brewers that they were taxed. Artisnal women lost their domination of the daily ritual of brewing during the Industrial Revolution. Today's brewing trade is controlled by men. The collaboration of two Craft companies both led by women, New Glarus Brewing and Weyermann Malting, is unique. You hold the result of "Two Women" a Classic Country Lager ..." I'm proud to support them.
Nice cool day here, walked earlier and going soon to a matinee of The Butler. ♥ to all

Good morning ladies, just wanted to let everyone know that my apt went well. Nothing new to report on mri. I have decided to wait on the tamoxefin for a bit. (Pretty much because I have not completley decided that I am done having babies)
and the onco, said it has really bad birth defects. So I should wait...so here i am waiting...and trying to talk my hubby into another baby! Hope this beautiful fall morning finds everyone doing well, and enjoying the weather before the dreaded snow starts to fall! Happy Fall Ladies!
-
NR4, glad your apt went well.
It was cold enough my DH actually asked ME if it was alright to start the furnace! LOL. Usually I have to convince him.
Its 55 today. But beautifully sunny today. -
hi all, hope this finds everyone well. Gorgeous weather the past few days!
notready, glad to hear nothing new on MRI. Good luck with the baby talk.
Monica, please send my regards to your DH. :-) 3TTC 3TTC 3TTC! ♥ to all

We had a beautiful day today. Enjoyed it a lot.
Much love to all. -
hi ladies, took today off and boy it's a great day to not be working! Working inside anyway, I'm headed out for some yardwork in a little while.
Sheila, I haven't heard from anyone else about visiting New Glarus so it may be just us two but that's OK with me. Is there a Saturday that works for you?
Gina, I'm moving offices Nov 1 so let's do lunch at Sunprint before the end of Oct!
Monica, how'd it go at the PS yesterday? 3TTC 3TTC 3TTC! ♥ to all
-
Hi everyone! It is just beautiful out here today. Just sitting out here to enjoy this wonderful weather.
PS visit went well. He filled me 100 on each side. And no, mr rightie didnt spring a leak. Still holding strong. Up to 600 on left and right. Guess im going for 900. LOL. PS says hes not going to be able to fill to DD. I said "um" I was C cup before.... LOL. Las of the abx tonight. Then I see if they hold on. So keep fingers crossed. Much live -
Hi all! Another gorgeous fall day! Hope you're all staying healthy. As of this past Monday! I'm subbing full-time for an aide at the Elementary School who fell at home and broke her shoulder. I'm assuming she'll have surgery, maybe a shoulder replacement. It's an adjustment going to full time, but it's just what I needed. The aide is 62 and kind of slow already for her age so people are wondering if she'll retire. That would be great news for me!
Badger, would the weekend of the 12-13th work for you? This weekend is Belleville's homecoming for dd #2, and DD #1 will be home from Oshkosh. Really, all of the rest of the weekends work for me also.
Anyone else a Breaking Bad fan? Best show, ever. So sad the series finale is tonight!! 😢enjoy the rest of your Sunday girlfriends! 💗 -
Hi WI Ladies,
It's been awhile since I said hello - continuing to recover from my bmx and will start radiation this week. Anyone here have radiation at Turville Bay in Madison? -
Swgee I am glad you are working full time like you wanted.
Peace I am hoping your recovery continues. Sorry, I didnt have rads. But I hope they also go smoothly. I heard Aquaphor helps on rad skin. Much love -
Monica - I'm glad your fill went well with no leaks! Badger's 3TTC worked!
Badger - yes, let's get together for lunch before you move. I'll PM you and we can pick a date. I have a couple of days off in October but am mostly around.
Peace - I did my rads at Carbone but I know someone who had bmx and rads at Turville Bay this summer. She had a good experience there and did very well.
Swgee & Badger - I may be able to join you in New Glarus. I'm not really interested in the brewery but would meet you before or after for lunch or coffee. I'll watch this thread for the date you choose.
It looks like we'll have another beautiful week here! I'm still wearing summer clothes to work~~need to change the closet soon. Take care, Gina
-
hi all and happy fall! Gorgeous weather to enjoy!
Gina, looking forward to lunch. How about a Friday? I'm off this Fri and have an appt on the 25th so maybe the 11th or 18th? Going to miss being downtown. Anyone else want to join in, you're welcome, just let one of us know!
Sheila, my Saturdays are free at this point so Oct. 12, 19, or 26 all work for me.
How are the leaves looking around NG? They just started changing around here. I'm looking forward to walking the Sugar River Trail and leaf peeping so that's one consideration for which weekend we choose LOL.
Peace, I didn't have rads either but good luck!
Monica, 3TTCx3! ((fuzzy)) thinking of you. ♥ to all
-
Thanks everyone. 3TTC it still is...
trees just barely starting around here. Fond du lac has much more color. Sheboygan not so much. but its coming.
Much love to all. -
hi all, hope this finds everyone doing well. BCO text box is acting a little wonky so this may come all smushed together, hope not. Gina, the 18th just got booked up so if it's a Friday in Oct, I'm down to the 11th for lunch. But other days will work too! Got some chigger bites while clearing brush last weekend and they're not dangerous but they itch like mad. Big red welts that may take 3 - 6 weeks to go away. Take care out there! Monica 3TTCx3! ♥
-
Hi girlfriends! So glad it stopped raining! I was so crabby last night between a major hot flash that wouldn't go away and the humidity, I am really loving the cool weather today.
Badger would you want to go this coming Saturday, the 12th? The leaves are beautiful around New Glarus now. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
Take care everyone and have a beautiful Sunday! -
Badger - Sorry to hear about the chigger bites. I hope you have some relief from the itch and that they are gone soon. I can't do lunch this Friday (10/11). Let's look at another day in Oct since your Fridays are booked. I was off yesterday and today and have loved this weather!
Swgee - I hear you about the hot flashes and the humidity! I'm so glad it has cooled off.
Monica - I hope you are well!
Gina -
Hi all. I was enjoying the lovely weather. Tonite it is downright cold. Unless its just me.... got a sweatshirt on and a shawl. Got my down throw on too. Sure hope its mot chills! 3TTC X 3!!!!!!!
Badger hope the chiggers leave you alone now. Sweegee hot flashes suck. Cold waves stent any better. I get both.
Much live to all. -
hi all, thanks the bites have gotten better or maybe it's the gel I found with a bit of antihistamine. Gina, my meeting for Fri 10/25 was canceled, would that work? Sheila, it's supposed to rain this Sat 10/12 so what do you think about Sun 10/13? Looks like maybe the nicest day we'll have for a while. The weather-guesser says there's a cold front coming in next week and it'll be 20 degrees cooler. Monica, hope you're still doing well 3TTCx3. ♥ to all
-
Badger, Sunday works for me, also. I'm trying to enjoy this beautiful weather because we all know what's in store for us.... Hope you're all doing well! (((Hugs))) -
Badger - yes, 10/25 for lunch works for me! Sunprint at 11:30? Sorry I won't be able to join you and Swgee in NG on Sunday.
I have to go to a baby shower (ugh) in IL (double ugh). Maybe next time.
Gina -
Two meet-ups, excellent! Gina, yes to 10/25 at the time & place you proposed. Anyone else in the area free for lunch that day? You're welcome to join us.
Sheila, yes to this Sunday! I like channel 3 weather and tonight they said rain Sat morning, clearing up in time for the Badgers game in the afternoon, then NICE on Sun. So I think we picked a good day. How does 10 a.m. sound for a meeting time? We can have a coffee and maybe a pastry, then walk the trail for a good while, then a light lunch, then think about the brewery tour. You know NG better than I do, so if you don't mind, please pick a meeting place and PM me the location and I'll be there!
Monica, hope all is well. 3TTCx3! ♥ to all
-
hi all, looks like a beautiful day in Wisconsin! The NG meet is off for today as SwgeeWi picked up a bug so we rescheduled to next weekend if anyone's interested. Hope you feel better Sheila! I spent an hour walking around town and "leaf peeping" yesterday and I must say we have some glorious trees here. Think I'll do it again today. Gina I trust you got through the BS (baby shower) and IL LOL. Monica, I bet it's gorgeous around Port. 3TTCx3! ♥

Have not caught up with you girls in a while - drove to Madison recently because hubby had a law school class reunion. I went over with him for the day and was reminded of 2011 when, after 4 months off for surgery & chemo, I returned to work in autumn. Since I quit my job in May of this year, that made this trip back there about the same time interval. Felt rather odd going there again. The gals from my former employer met me for lunch: circumstances have not improved much so I'm glad I "retired".
I may need my hours free to fight with insurance. Was supposed to have a follow-up MRI which they denied. On appeal, it looks like they may allow the scan but not until spring. That schedule is not optimal since that is when I'm eligible for the next screening mammogram. I'm more than a little upset that they can override my radiologist's suggestion. We'll see if filing a grievance will help.
Monona Terrace is the place for a couple conferences which I plan to attend. This week is Advances in Multidisciplinary Cancer Care with an emphasis on family impact, distress & spirituality. November 7 and 8 is the 10th annual meeting of the BC and Environment Research Program featuring speakers from all over the US. It will be quite scientific but lay people can register and there is no charge. Anyone want to join me? -
hey ladies! Congrats Mary on your retirement, good luck fighting the insurance company. I hate that bean counters can over-rule doctors. Sorry won't be able to join you but seminars sound interesting.
Sheila, looks like Sunday will be the better of the two days this weekend, still up for it?
Mom called tonight and doesn't want to live alone any more so has decided to sell her house in Florida and move to Wisconsin next spring. I'll help sort and clean when I visit over Christmas break, fly down in spring & help her finish packing, then drive her car north. Most of her belongings will be shipped by moving van. We're looking at the east side of Madison since that's close to my work location. I'm looking into independent living / assisted living facilities. Anyone have advice, recommendations, or words of wisdom? ♥ to all
-
Mary good luck with the insurance. Perhaps you will gind a human on the other end. Badger I dont know anything sbout assisted living in Madison. If your Mom is really active than downtown in her own place might be better for her. She would be close enough to do a lot of things on her own. Youd be sale to check in on her all the time. And even with downtown rents it might be cheaper than assisted living. Youll make the right choice for her.
Much love. -
Spent Friday afternoon touring independent living places and found a really nice one that offers the services mom wants and is in her budget. Hallelujah! ♥ to all
-
Badger I am happy for you. I hope your Mom will be happy too.
