High grade smear result.

I put this somewhere else but got no response.

My smear came back high grade and going for colposcopy this Friday. My gp says it could be high because of having chemo (16 months ago)

I am so worried and can only think of cancer. Has anyone had a smear after chemo and if so what results did you get. I have always had normal results so this is a shock. ( last one 3 yrs ago)

    Hi, try not to stress....the colposcopy will shed more light on what they have found.  I did not have this during or after breast cancer but many years ago....and they lazered the area.  Has been fine ever since...20 years.

    Thanks so much, all I can think of is it will be bad and I'll have to have more chemo. No way am I going through chemo again.

    Hang in there Ali.  The prep will be worse than the procedure, but your peace of mind is definitely worth it.  They had a great article in the most recent Cure Magazine about cancer survivors and the fear of recurrence.  Check out www.Curetoday.com  It really hit home for me.

    Let us know how things go Friday.  Good thing is he'll tell you right after what he found.  No waiting over the weekend for results.

    Two or three weeks for results not sure if it cancer yet.
