PINK MONTH

Hi, I am a 5 years breast cancer survivor, my cancer was found in Pink Month. I support awareness and I support fundraising.  However, through the last few years I have come to learn alot about Pink Month.  I have learned through the ladies on these boards that some of these companies that so proudly sell these Pink Products that when it comes right down to the crunch, lose their jobs, lose their insurance as they are going through treatment. How sad is that.  How much actually goes to the research and where does the money actually go?

I have recently raised just under $2000 for my Local Cancer Agency. The money goes directly to their Foundation for research.  I am big on raising money when you know exactly where that money is going.

So what I am saying....Pink Month although it rattles my cage and I hate to see it everywhere and in my face....do a little research and see exactly where the money is going especially if you are buying Pink products. If not, raise money and donate to your local hospital, your local cancer agency etc.  Just know where your money goes because a lot of corporations are just out for the big buck.

Also...remind all of your friends, family and co-workers to have their regular mammograms!
