At first I lost about 3 lbs. Then I gained 5. Now I've lost 2! So back to square one. Not sure if there is any connection with Aromasin at this point. I am seriously watching carbs and exercising. Hoping to lose 10 more.

I have always struggled with weight - I don't think Aromasin makes a difference. It's not easier, but I don't think it is harder. I have a very sedentary life. I work from home so the trip to the office less than 50 steps. At the end of a work day I have only logged about 1000 steps or less! Add poor food choices and it's not good.
Diet and exercise - by golly, that fixes everything that's wrong in life so I need to get on the band wagon!

I'm sorry Yorkie but I have no honor when it comes to my weight. I'm way overweight so I blame it on anything and everything except myself. I am a loser, but not in weight..
Ohio u should carry around those little battery fans, well one at least, those re retty good or a water spray bottle with cold wt (iced) u'r wet nyway at least u can use that and then the fan. It does help.

I am better when I keep weight numbers to myself. Never could get the WW folks saying they had lost .4 pounds or such.
I told my trainer a few months back that I had lost 6 pounds...I had...but I gained it back a couple days later
who knows, at least the number is constant now, I may be overweight but not going up in pant sizes

I am still the same pant size, but only because my weight is around my waist. I have a big spare tire ---trying to cut out some carbs, but I get so hungry without them---

me too on the carbs. After my gym days, I tried eating a nice salad with protein and lo carb greens...not ! JUst give me a good hunkof bread! crusty or dark or just interesting bread and I am in heaven

If you eat whole wheat bread it won't put on the weight as much. We eat whole grain pasta from time to time and I haven't noticed a problem. Of course everything in moderation!

actually, my legs are getting thinner....old age or all my gym stuff? not sure but I can see it in my pants

I have been gaining a pound a month since I started Arimidex and it is starting to scar me. I had lost a lot of weight while on chemo but this is ridiculous. I have never had a weight problem but I sure do now. I also have such dry mouth that it hurts all the time along with dry everything else. Don't let the doctors tell you that it isn't the meds because........IT IS!

Try spelt pasta instead of whole grain pasta....

I love sour dough bread and it is not fattening, but has a lot of salt. So since my cardio NP is concerned about my "off and on" swollen ankles, I am trying the Ezekiel (low salt) bread. Hard to get used to the taste, but it is quite dense so is also filling.

Has anyone ever tried the Paleo (not sure of spelling) bread?

Weight - my sister is having bariatric surgery this month. To support her, my other sister and I are going to same diet(s) she is on pre and post surgery. I am hoping it works for me. I mean, anything lost is good. I don't want to a run a marathon, I just want to make a flight of steps and still have breath left.

Big question - what have you been told about soy? Do you steer clear of it? Or no?

ohio....you are a great supportive sister. I would think your sis diet will surely be good for you as well. Best of luck to your family.
at the time of my diagnosis (5 years ago), I freaked out after I ate soybeans in a sushi rest.
my onco said in moderation that it was fine but not to start drinking soy milk on a reg basis. It is not like I visit sushi joints often so I enjoy them when there

I was told. If it's listed as an ingredient, don't sweat it. But avoid pure soy foods like tofu, soy milk, yogurt, cheese ect.

Rant starting===AVOID, AVOID, AVOID---do not, do not, do not ---water, water, water,---excercise, excercise, excercise--this disease should be apologizing to us and yet we have to bend things for it--not just one or 2 things but alot, eyes can get worse, mouth so dry, bones so brittle, infections so easiky etc---and this is after all the chemo, rads surgery. It's a neverending story of untruths, injustice and not the American way. I got that from Superman LOL Just felt like moaning hahaha I moaned--Rant over.

Proud u did call the Dr. didn't u, and on anti'b---but they still seem to take longer to go away now ---in fact I never had a sinus infec. in my life until prob. 2 yrs ago, my sister too. And now we get them all the time always have to take scripts--I know (of course) some of my friends who've had them forever and I realized how awful they are. But the stupid part ( usually there is a stupid part with me) when I get one I call my sister and say I have a sinus infection and I have never been so sick in my whole entire life. And she hangs up on me.

Hi..in answer to the paleo bread question: I bought some at a ridiculously expensive price and it was so awful I couldn't eat it. Even the dog wouldn't eat it after I toasted it and put a bit of peanut butter on it which she loves.

yeah I had called my PCD a couple of weeks ago, have done a week of an antibiotic, got worse so called again and now on pennicilin and still not better so called in the calvary.....called an ENT that I have not seen in 2 years~~but will see him today
I feel like someone punched me in the nose and something is blocking my nostril and can only breath through the mouth...my rant over~~hope this guy has a good plan

Ok - so soy is probably okay in moderation; I can stay away from pure soy stuff, but so many things have soy as an ingredient I was wondering. I guess the further down the list of ingredients the better. I'm looking at protein bars (to support my sister in her weight loss endeavors) and want to make the best of the choices I have.
I am in 'no evidence of disease' phase and I like it. But I do want to just enjoy life - - - I need to make the best choices I can and not regret a few 'misses'. There is no way to prove soy was to blame if cancer returns, maybe the stress of wondering will be the culprit if cancer comes knocking.
My final answer - less is better; moderation is key. Thanks for all the info to work throught this

Thirst, anyone else extra thirsty on this med? My lips are dry and I need extra water lately. I am going to put a vaporizer on in the house to see if that helps too. We've already had to turn our heat on. And no, I don't think it's that since I'm the only one in the house experiencing such thirst.
My dr gave me a med to help with sleep, with the warning that it can be addictive. But then she gave me enough refills for a year. Go figure.

Corky I use biotine to help, and vaseline on my lips--but my mouth is so dry all the time, I always have water next to me. Oh yea the meds I get my pain meds 100 at a time and I said Geeze u have a lot of confidence in me that I'm not suicidal.

yeah my docs tossed the anti axiety stuff at me. I used it occassionally in the beginning but actually using the gym and exercising as my therapy!

Good for u proud-I don't use the anxiety much but yea I admit to using the pain meds, it doesn't help that ll my organs are moving around and pushing on my ribs--which really is not a SE of this but my ribs are being pushed up--so that's one of the reasons I use them--I don't ight it anymore, I'm no martyr. LOL
