Evasive liver 'spot'

Diagnosed July 10th with IDC 2b, grade 2, 5/8 nodes.  Had mastectomy and axillary node dissection.  Started chemo Aug 20th.  My question is with a 'liver spot' noted on the CT scan.  At the time they said it was most likely a hemangioma and to just have an ultrasound after I had recovered from surgery.  All doctors forgot about it and I had to remind them last week.  I went in for the ultrasound and the tech could not find the spot at all (despite really trying).  She consulted with the radiologist who said the spot was in a difficult area of the liver and would be hard to find.  Apparently is was very, very small as well...size of a pencil mark.

Now I am freaking out because I had had my first chemo before the ultrasound and wondering if it was mets that has been affected by treatment.  I guess I will just have to wait for my next CT to see if it is still there.  Yuck!

awnie - my sister had the same thing show up on a CT scan and it did turn out to be nothing. Dont assume its mets - understand why you are anxious but my guess is it is nothing. Btw my sister also had a carcinoid on her lung which apparently is very common and has had it for like 20 years - she doesnt smoke; a cyst of some type on her kidneys and the place on her liver - all amounted to no big deal. Good luck...diane

Thanks. Finally went in had another ultrasound and MRI. All clear just a tiny cyst on the liver. Phew. Now just have to finish the chemo and most likely rads.

    Thx.
