Over Sensitive Remaining Breast .... am I alone?

Options

Hey, I'm new to this page and sorry if this is a repeat post, but I couldn't find this topic.

I was diagnosed in at age 28 in Dec 2011, and had a mastectomy/reconstruction Feb-May 2011.  I'm down to one breast and nipple and my remaining breast and nipple have become super sensitive.  When my husband touches it when we get intimate it becomes too much sensation and it is too much for my brain to process.  I don't know how to decribe it, it isn't painful, but it is uncomfortable and sometime I have to make him stop.  I still have no sensation in my missing breast and I feel like maybe if I had my other one to "balence it out" I would feel better.  After almost 4 years of dealing with so much crap I just want to feel normal again, but this is holding me back.  What is going on with my body and brain?  Is it in my head?

I get what you are saying, my remaining nipple is super sensitive. I used to not know when the headlights were coming on and now I feel it every time. My husband has been super great and not touching too much. I think it's just like if we lose out sight our other senses kick into high gear. For some women their breast are very sensitive and I think that if we lose one the remaining breast might be over compensating. Just my thoughts.
