    Hi All,

This happened to my mom almost 2 years back but I still don't understand it. My mother opted for neoadjuvant therapy and had 4 cycles of chemo before the surgery. She had a radical mastectomy with 17 lymph nodes removed, but the strange thing is her biopsy report post surgery says no cancer cells found in both the primary location and the lymph nodes. I still dont understand this. How can there be no trace of it at all?? because of this we were never able to fully know the stage of cancer and I end up with a new theory everyday....

I believe that means your mom had a complete pathological response to the chemotherapy.  That's great! It means the chemo worked on her cancer. :)  The nice aspect of neoadjuvant chemo is that you truly get to measure the response your specific breast cancer has to a specific chemo.

I wish your mom many many years of healthy living. :)
