Trying to understand....

I was diagnosed just over a week ago with right IDC with positive lymph node involvement, grade 3, HER2/neu 3+, and all other hormone positive.  The bone scan and PET show that likely metastasis to my left humerus, although they think it would be too painful to biopsy that area to confirm. 

My oncologist has decided to start with Arimidex for four treatments, even though I'm premenopausal at 40yrs old.  Then do Tamoxifen with Herceptin for four treatments.  Then surgery.  Why would he do Armidex if I'm premenopausal?  Is it because it will do more for the mets?

    You are asking good questions. Perhaps it is a good idea to call your oncologist, and ask directly. Also, you may just want to get a second opinion.
