4 Years Ago Today
Hard to believe it was 4 years ago today I heard those words that changed my life forever. At times it seems like an eternity, others just like yesterday.
Although I could dwell on all the "bad" things that have happened since that day, I think today I will stick to all the GREAT things instead! I am 4 years older (hurray?:)), my children are now lovely teenagers beginning a new chapter in their lives at a new HS and I am an active participant. I have a husband, whom although we butt heads at times, I know will be there for me when I really need him. I have AMAZING family and friends, so many rushed to my side during my dx, it was truly overwhelming. Besides my kids being my main passion in life I am enjoying my other passions, cooking, listening to loud music (yes I am a 51 yo rocker still), driving my Bullitt Mustang, going to car shows and participating in the Grand Prix of Baltimore. I have been able to return to my Crew with the Avon Walk for BC, and have seen my beautiful daughter graduate from the Youth Crew to a Walker (which she completed all 39+ miles) and carry the torch for all of us! I work for an incredible Company, whom supported me throughout my entire journey, never hesitating to work around me and lift me up during tx and when I've needed time off. I could go on and on. I am truly blessed.
And of course, I couldn't finish without taking a moment to THANK ALL OF YOU for being here for me! I just wish I had found you right at the beginning of my journey. There were so many questions, but once I did find you, I felt like I was home. No one else "gets it" like a person who's been there. And you all get it, and me, and for that I am SOOOO grateful!
Wishing you all the best, and to anyone new here, please know, it DOES get better!
Much love to you all,
Sharon

Today marks 1 year since I received the call that changed my life. Guess what...today received the exact same news that I have a 2 cm tumor in the other breast. A new cancer, according to the radiologist (BIRAD 5), while taking Arimidex. Just shoot me...I am sick of this
Sharon, I am very happy for you. Stay healthy!

(((Hugs))) Jennifer!!!!
Damn it, that is freakin insult to injury! I was getting a pelvic ultrasound yesterday b/c of an enlarged uterus and was thinking the same thing. How could it be happening again? I haven't heard back yet so I am praying it's all OK.
Dig deep girlfriend. I know this has pulled the rug out from you. Do what you need to do and stay in charge. We'll be here for you.
Love,
Sharon

Sharon, thanks for your very inspiring post. I can really identify with what you have written. Some times go so fast, thankfully.
Jenifer, I am truly sorry that you are facing another diagnosis so soon. We all know we could be in that position.
I see that you have posted on another thread and hope you get all the support you need on this site. -

Congratulations on 4 years, Sharon! You were one of the first to welcome me here and I never forgot that. Thank you... And I hope everything turns out okay with your uterus -- there should be a limit on the number of scary calls a person gets in a lifetime! Hoping you are okay...
Jenifer, so sorry you are facing this roller coaster again...
