Thinking Out Loud.....

Hey Chris
Why don't u come along?
Mary,Mary claims she has a big house
Hope she knows what she is in for....if this thing does come to pass. -
Aw - thanks for the invite. NC sounds like more of a trip than I could make...DS still at home and the crappy job and all...
DD is marching at a game tonight. Kinda wish I could go, but since I have no friends, I have no one to go with and it's going to be cold (not to mention expensive...) (The boys are camping - brrrr) I hope someone posts a video online so I can see the band. ( I actually have 2 friends, but they are both too busy to do stuff)
So, I will spend my evening puttering around the house doing a little cleaning (emphasis on "little") and watching Breaking Bad on Netflix - I'm trying to catch up - now I find out this is its last season? Figures.
Oh - and I managed not to pick up DD's jacket in time. I thought I read that Saturday hrs were until 4 last weekend when we walked by there... today the sign said 2:00. It was 3 when I went. Could I BE more of a loser? Sheesh.
(((((TOL)))))

Miss you all! Been very busy, hope you are all well. Diane, I don't hang out at the dorm, lol. I would love to go back to College!
Sheila♥

Chris, your day/week sounds like a normal one for me. I had an excuse (5 kids) but now that it's just DH and myself, nothing has changed!!!
Anyway, 50% may sound like an F but we will socially promote youToday I was broiling an omelette in the oven so I'd have a week's worth of healthy meals for work...DS called and while we chatted, it caught fire and the smoke detector was blaring and I was so close to calling the fire department but instead I called DH's cell to find out if we have a fire extinguisher.
There were flames in the oven and dark smoke escaping...but eventually it burned itself out. Then I had to air out the house for about 8 hours. I can't be trusted with anything...maybe I can blame it on Femara brain.
FireKracker, NC is a long way...gheesh i can't even get to PA...
Wish we could meet in DC...halfway for both...or my house...nobody here anymore so bedrooms are empty. Well, if we dream it enough, maybe it will happen!Beautiful day....saw the sunset at the beach. Life is good...
-
Joan---Mary said Amtrack...if I can find one here that goes to DC then I could meet u there...I no u have Amtrack close by.
See the plan is starting to form.
Xo the firecracker -
Linda - omg - I wish I go back and do college right... so jealous of DD. Well, I had my chance...
Joan -glad you didn't burn the house down. We have a fire extinguisher - I'm just not sure I could figure out how to use it if I needed it (or if it still works!) We had an older one - one day I realized it had a tie on it to keep it from being discharged accidentally - I'm thinking - good thing I haven't needed it - not the best to realize you need to find scissors in order to cut the tie so you can use the extinguisher. Duh.

Check out my new avatar...can u see the purple streaks?
-
I see a very pretty lady.
-
Me too.
-
Awww thank you
Veggy did u tell the sistas you gave me a surprise visit? -
love the pix granny
Meece so happy for you
Joan, it is so hurtful when they do things like that, you have a decision to make but doesn't it feel like they don't want you with them, which I am sure is not true it is about the 3 year old, they should have asked, instead of assuming...
Shiela still so happy for you
Chris you crack me up!!
Linda where r u
Diane do you feel better?
Week off from chemo so happy hope I feel good enough to do stuff, like mom mom and andrew day...
-
Hope you can have a great mom mom and Andrew day!
-
I'm here, just not here. College life, HS soccer, keeping me busy. How do hyou do it Chris??
Mam tomorrow. grrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Good luck tomorrow, Linda! They crushed me so hard today, i thought wine might come out. Didn't sleep at all last night so heading to bed right now!!!
Sandy - thank you for asking, I am feeling better but when I get something respiratory or sinus, it takes me forever to shake it! How are you feeling? Hope you get your Mom Mom and Andrew day
-
Rain......hi girley how are you....
Sandy...take care Sweety........us DELCO girls have to look out for each other.
Linda....how does your son like JWU......my grandson likes it a lot......in his Sophomore year.
Spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with Verizon.......such idiots.......really messed up my bill....have 2 accounts, and they keep mixing them up.......Pa, and NJ........it's the shore acct they can't keep straight...really lost my cool......told the girl to SHUT UP and listen instead of running her PIE HOLE for the past 10 minutes.......lucky that was all I said.......finally called back, got a nice guy.....straightened it out....then said.....ok, now disconnect my NJ number for the season.......cause I may not be back with your company next year......normally you just suspend service........ phew -
Ducky -Your phone bills sound like my insurance bills... still don't know what I owe to whom for sure... between the doctor's offices billing as though DH was the patient when it was DS - duh and insurance not paying out all the health reimbursement money and reaching our deductible all at the same time... it's all screwed up. Then I have the dentist still billing me for an appt I had where MY dentist wasn't in the office so the new partner did my exam, but he wasn't listed as participating with my insurance so they are billing be as though I went out of network - wtf. And coincidentally that dentist used to me our old dentist 'til he stopped participating with our insurance and I got stuck with bills for 3 cleanings that should have been free. Now he's back! Ugh.
Linda - how do I do it? I don't do anything. DD doesn't bother answering my questions on FB or text - so I'm about to stop bothering to communicate with her- too frustrating. And DS doesn't participate in many activities - just band - so we'll be busy for a month - end of Sept to end of Oct - then it will go back to just me chasing DS around to do his work and his laundry. Though I suppose getting him to do what he needs to do to apply to college should be fun. I think if you need to pull teeth to get kids to apply to college, they aren't ready for college. He is going to be SO SCREWED. He's not used to doing much work at all - I think he will flunk out the first semester. DD is barely hanging on. She doesn't do the work the way it needs to be done and then stresses about the results. Maddening.
I got to find out that DD had a microbiology exam today when I went on FB and saw her post from last night. Yay. So glad other people I know are more in the know about what is going on with my DD than I am. Whatever. If that's the way she wants it. I can find other things to do with what little time and energy I have.
Sorry to bitch. It's been a long day. worked 9-9:45 - on my feet the whole time - no break. So I'm grumpy. But I could use the money...
(((((TOL)))))
-
Chris bitch all you want
Linda, gotta love those kids.
Ducky you are so right.....dr. sent me to a pulmonary dr. @ Springfield/Taylor hospital, but thanks for your input...
Chubba thanks for checking in
Veggy thoughts are with you all the time
Granny, whatcha up to?
Diane hope you are feeling better....
Deb where r u?
Meece you are a among the missing...
Me ok can't wait til friday asked him what he wants to do, he has football practice Friday night @ 6 so not alot. only b/t 3 n 6 we can find something to do...
Me doing good cept for the oxy, Michael is trying to get his permit taking him again today and George failed 3 times, he can't read (7th grade) having the questions read to him...he doesn't want to go.....walmart shopping and going to this breast cancer warehouse where people who are in treatment can go and get whatever they need from shampoo to curtains, pillows, clothes whatever....it is awesome, there are only 2 in the US 1 in Arizona and one about 1/2 from me in Newtown Square.....loving my week off!!!
BBL
-
Christ......my oldest is 56....youngest 44...........it doesn't change........they will all learn when it is too late.......wonder why we still keep trying........,guess that is what a good mother does......I have no answers.....only that it does not change.....,age makes them no wiser.....and my kids are super intelligent successful people, so explain it to me.......
-
Everyone has the same shit AND if they say differently its bullshit
My son who is married to this beauty(ugly) really is a royal bitch from the republic of Georgia...she is determined to break up my family and did a good job of it.
Me I just cut them out of my life period.
Today my DD calls me to tell me he posted on FB I have the best mother in the entire world...oh yeah...
What am I missing here? -
Granny - been there, doing that. DS is between a rock and a hard place and wants you to know that he is aware - that'd be my take on it.
-
((((((Moms))))))
-
Being a Mom is not easy, but it's the best job I ever had......and like Jacqueline Kennedy once said when asked what her goal in life was.....her answer......TO BE A GREAT MOTHER....BECAUSE IF YOU FAIL AT THAT JOB......YOU HAVE FAILED IN LIFE.......
-
(((TOL))) I love catching up here...I smile, I learn...I remind myself I'm not insane (and if I am, then I probably have company
)
Sandy, glad you're off...and you deserve the warehouse. That is awesome _ I never heard of it. You are right about DD - I do not think she means to reject but they are going with friends and that's a whole different trip. I made my decision - I am going to spend 2 days taking care of Caroline (2-3/4 y). It's a long trip and I don't feel like going back there for Thanksgiving ... but I can only handle one thought at a time.
FireKracker, love your avatar!!! I see the purple...
Linda, Diane, Chris, Sheila, Ducky...and those MIA (Deb, Meece, others)...
thinking of you.Time for bed...up in a few hours. Wednesday home after 10 PM and Thursday out before 7 AM.
-
Joan....hugs for you.....up early today.......my son is coming for lunch.......tomorrow down the shore for the final trip.....closing down the house till next May.......always bittersweet......less bills (running 2 homes), but that long, lonely winter........if I was younger I would find a job....but who will hire a 78 year old that can' stand for long periods, .no more going to my daughters to watch the kids.......she is working from home for now, but even when she goes back, at 15, and 13, they feel they can let themselves in, and she is home within the 1/2 hour.......
What to do..........you can only clean so much.......and wash clothes do many times......thinking of getting a knee replacement so I can finally walk like I use to, but I'm afraid the LE, in my arm, could happen in my leg............
Anyone know anybody that it happened to?............have a great day......beautiful here.... -
Mammo was good! Glad yours was too Diane.
Chris, same problems here. He does NOT communicate with us at all. He's going to soon! Just found out he dropped one of his classes. He only was taking 3, now too. Partying to much. This kid is going to end up back home with me. He has such a wonderful opportunity and he's going to blow it!!!!
Hello EVERYONE! Old and new!!
-
Linda......one of my Grandsons did the same thing.......his Dad made him leave after the first year was over, come back home, and commute......he was at Shippensburg, in Pa, but just far enough away....he is finishing ay Penn State, Brandywine Campus and doing great, will graduate in May.....another was at Temple, also in Pa.....he commuted and still screwed up, ended up leaving after the first year, and is now a Union Journeyman Carpenter after doing a 4 year apprenticeship....
Yet I have others who applied themselves, and are making 6 figure salaries, so it all depends on the kid and what they want out of life.........everyone is not meant for college......but today parents push it.........never thinking of the Trades.....but I mean going thru an apprenticeship, and being Union trained.......they make great money too....and some kids cannot be confined to an office.....
My GS at JWU......does well, but drinks entirely too much.....I have a huge problem with that.....appears his father doesn't...he is the brother to the one that got pulled and sent to PSU, but this one because he is doing ok, with decent grades manages to stay......go figure......partying, and drinking are the same...good grades or bad...... -
Congrats on the good mammos - I didn't have one this year. Last year, the BS's office contacted me about the mammo. I had the mammo, radiologist said it was good - then I didn't know how long to wait to make an appt with the BS, then I forgot, then I decided not to bother. So they never saw me last year - probaby why they didn't send the paperwork for the mammo this year. Oh well. I have an appt with my onc next month. I wonder what she'll say about the mammo.
Linda - sorry DS is giving you a hard time already. Does he have enough credits to be considered full time? (if that is an issue) Does his advisor know he dropped the class? These schools treat these kids as though they are independent adults. Uh, hello? Most of them aren't. Not only do the kids not have a clue, but Mom and Dad are still paying ALL the bills - Mom and Dad should be kept in the loop. I told DD I want to have her password to her student accout - first I need it to pay the bills - (if there is another way, the school hasn't communicated it effectively) and I want to see her grades. I'm paying for it afterall. You want me to pay, I want to see the results. And if you don't play along, I'll stop paying. And she knows I'm mentally unstable enough that I might just do it. lol
Ducky- is there an elementary school near you? Maybe you could be a class grandma?
As far as I know, DD isn't partying, but she is spending hours at her extracurriculars... she's all about the extracurricular activities... marching band and ballroom dancing. (though technically band is a class) First I thought the dancing was a club - so I'm thinking if she's too busy to go, she can skip what she has to. THEN I found out she's on the TEAM! So when I see her post on FB that she studied all afternoon and then went to ballroom for several hours that evening and is worried about her test the next day.... sigh Now I'm seeing a post with mentions of a twisted ankle... not surprised - she twisted her ankles all the time playing basketball in 9th grade. Probably not easy to dance with an injured ankle. And probably won't look good to perform with ace bandages LOL. I don't know whether to feel sorry for her or be mad at her.
Joan - I hope you enjoy your time with Caroline - it's too early to think about Thanksgiving. Oh - and if you are insane, I'll keep you company...I'm definitely there.
Love the purple hair, Firecracker!
Sandy - do you still have purple hair(or was it pink?) Hope you got (get?) a lot of good stuff at that warehouse.
How are you holding up, Diane?
Sheila - how are things?
((((((TOL)))))))
-
Glad yours is not partying! He is now considered part time. I talked to him tday and told him to fix the prob or you're coming home. Shoot me!
-
I think good moms come in last...
The kids who I have shitty moms give them sooo much respect...
The more u do the worst it gets.
Just my opinion.
Ducky---u want a job? Well I told u my GD is goin I back to work and I'm watching the boys 2hrs 2x a week...doesn't sound like much but really you can have the job....
Yesterday Greyson and my GD was comin to visit me...well the carpet was a little crooked and my Gd was tryin to get it straight when Greyson took off and ran into the elevator..thank God there was a lady in there and she said to him Where is your mother...he doesn't say a word, just babbles...while my GD was screaming her head off..
So you want the job?????? -
To anyone I missed.
