Has anyone heard about Maitake Mushroom supplements increasing

white blood cells ability to destroy cancer cells and

cooked white button mushrooms aromatase inhibitor properties?

I am wondering if anyone is using these alone or in addition to

traditional hormonal therapy?

Any info on this is appreciated!

    Hi LJDH,

While you wait for the ever-helpful insight from others here, you may be interested in reading the main Breastcancer.org site's page on Maitake Mushrooms.

    Hope this helps!

Is it known whether these mushrooms interfere with the Als? I have had borderline low white cells for a few years. Would love to have something safe to build them up.

My wife takes maitake D extract in conjuction with her tamoxifen therapy.  Maitake is still under official investigation following a phase 1 trial at Kettering Sloane Memorial Hospital, it clearly does have an influence on the immune system, the only question is to what end result.  Oddly, it both enhanced and suppressed some markers of the immune system, depending on dosage.  Bev had low neutrophils a couple of times, and it seemed like the maitake brought it up, but that's not real science.
