Advertising what? If its something that could help I appreciate knowing where I might possibly get it. Its just annoying is all I'm saying. I don't really know how it works but I think the mods should be the only ones deleting posts, or the person who posted it.

I imagine it was the mods who deleted the post. I am just trying to explain the possible reasons.

Just like to share that research has shown PSK is effective for HER2+ BC in case anyone is interested. Got the following from HER2support.org forums.
Clin Cancer Res. 2011 Sep 14. [Epub ahead of print]

Abstract
PURPOSE:
The therapeutic effect of trastuzumab monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapy has been shown to be partially dependent on functional NK cells. Novel agents that enhance NK cell function could potentially improve the anti-tumor effect of trastuzumab. We recently identified polysaccharide krestin (PSK), a natural product extracted from medicinal mushroom Trametes Versicolor, as a potent TLR2 agonist. The current study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of PSK on human NK cells and the potential of using PSK to enhance HER2-targeted mAb therapy.
EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN:
Human PBMC were stimulated with PSK to evaluate the effect of PSK on NK cell activation, IFN-gamma production, cytotoxicity, and trastuzumab-mediated ADCC. Whether the effect of PSK on NK cells is direct or indirect was also investigated. Then in vivo experiment in neu transgenic mice was carried out to determine the potential of using PSK to augment the anti-tumor effect of HER2-targeted mAb therapy.
RESULTS:
PSK activated human NK cells to produce IFN-gamma and to lyse K562 target cells. PSK also enhanced trastuzumab-mediated ADCC against SKBR3 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. Both direct and IL-12-dependent indirect effects seem to be involved in the effect of PSK on NK cells. Oral administration of PSK significantly potentiated the anti-tumor effect of anti-HER2/neu mAb therapy in neu-transgenic mice.
CONCLUSIONS:
These results demonstrated that PSK activates human NK cells and potentiates trastuzumab-mediated ADCC. Concurrent treatment of PSK and trastuzumab may be a novel way to augment the anti-tumor effect of trastuzumab.
PMID: 21918170I've been taking PSP and PSK for 4.5 years now since my Stage IV HER2+ diagnosis from the get go. But PSK together with Herceptin didn't stop my liver met recurrence recently. Maybe I don't have the HLA-B40 antigen. That said, I'm still taking it faithfully today as I'd bought one year's supply just before the liver met recurrence
And nope, it didn't stop me from getting neutropenic and having to skip chemo. But thanks to my TCM doc, my ANC came back up within 5 days of taking his prescription..
-
I know this is an old thread, but I take Coriolus Versicolor (Turkey Tail) mushroom. I had to quit Herceptin after 3 months due to heart damage. I read tons of info about what to take. Of everything I read, Turkey Tail seemed the safest and best. I asked my Oncologist about it. At first he poo pooed the idea. Then he got on the computer in my presence and started looking. Since he is the head of a major university, he said "I will have a researcher look into it."
On my next check up he said, "Take the Turkey Tail." Hallelujah!
-
Denise, I like your onc.
-
I take turkey tail mushrooms after watching a video about mushrooms on Ted Med. Go to youtube and search for Paul Stamets at TedMed. The ending convinced me to take turkey tail mushrooms.
-
Momine - thanks, I like my Onc too!
GCE - I had not seen this video, but had heard about his mom. WOW, so much better to see in person - thank you soooo much. Go to this video and go to Time 7:47 - by the way, how many capsules to you take per day?
-
Denise
If my memory serves me right, I believe the researchers did 2.5g-3g a day. My TCM doc recommended 2.4g a day. As I'm still on chemo, I only take 1.5g a day to save my liver.
-
Denise - I take 3 capsules a day. I read on this article that Paul Stamets mother takes 4 capsules of turkey tail and 4 of My Community (mushroom blend) as a prevention.

PS: Our parents gave us life. There is no greater honor and duty than for a child to help their mother and father. I tried to help my father -- he too had cancer -- and although the doctors approved the use of our mushrooms, my stepmother blocked treatment. This was psychologically crushing to me. With my mom, I had a second chance, and she trusted me. My mom is a deeply spiritual and kind soul. She feels it was my destiny to help her. I don't disagree. I hope others benefit in the same way my mom has benefited. Now my mom is taking 4 Turkey Tail and 4 MyCommunity (a 17 species blend) per day. The multispecies blend seems to activate more of an immune response and benefit than from a single species, but clinical studies on this have not yet been conducted, although in vitro studies do support this hypothesis. -
I'm thinking of buying Mushroom Harvest mushroom blend. It was recommended by a ND at my support center.

I see Mushroom Harvest is from Ohio as am I. I will have to check into it. Thank you!
I have been taking 3 Turkey Tail capsules (Host Defense) and 3 MyCommunity capsules (Host Defense) daily.
-
So, is Host Defense the type that this man's mom was taking in the video? I am reading so many conflicting posts on which brand is best. I am taking the JHS brand, but never know if it's as effective...are many of you taking the Host defense?
-
My naturopathic doctor recommended the company Mushroom Science. That is what I take.
-
Check out this link and scroll down to herbs...it says Coriolus is only helpful in HLA B40-positive breast cancer subset? What the heck is that?
Also, helpful in other cancers...but, I wonder if it's worth the cost?

I am taking coriolus versicolor from Eu Yan San during radiation therapy and after treatment! Will stop for 2 weeks, then I will take cracked spores lingzhi or Ganoderma lucidum! Had done research on Pubmed NIH just google Pubmed NIH and breast cancer, you will find that Ganoderma lucidum or Reishi (Japan) lingzhi (China), can cure estrogen receptor positive breast cancer survival but not all types of breast cancer, especially those with HER+ is not suitable! Inflammotory breast cancer also not suitable!
As for yunzhi or PSK, coriolus versicolor is suitable for all types of cancer because it boost up our immune system, increase the NK cells, to kill bacterias and virus !
In Singapore, most of us take prescription TCM herbs and lingzhi plus yunzhi alternately
Such complementary therapy must be aggressive for 3 years after the convention invasive chemotherapy and RT
After treatment, I had sudden loss of strength from upper arms, no appetite, weight loss (43 kg) After blood test and nerve test, doctors are unable to detect the cause, I was discharged from hospital and treated with anti depressant but 2 weeks later gum ulcer appeared and x-ray shows root canal infection!
If you google search Femara vs paclitaxel, you will find a research journal from ASCO that 50% of patients taking Femara died of heart attack and strokes!!!
Don't simply trust your oncologist! Do your own research diligently and share with the brothers and sisters!
Together, we will surely win the battle, amen!
I switch to 1 mg Arimidex with Wisdom from Heaven!
I abstain from soya products, chicken, mango, deep fried food, royal jelly, ginseng, bird nest, snow fungus, wild yam, dong quai, deer placenta and cordyceps or winter worm summer grass as these herbs are rich in estrogen
I take lots of cruciferous vegetables, all kinds of berries, lemon, oranges and green apples juice
Soak 5 grains (no soya bean) in fridge for a day, then add white rice to cook as porridge, when soft, add fish and vegetables plus organic salt, black pepper and cinnamon
This diet fights fatigue!
I take 1000 iu to 2000 iu vitamin D3 together with calcium citrate 600 mg to fight bone loss and glucosamine to fight joint pain because Arimidex may cause bone thinning
I take lingzhi with ESTER-C, then power walk and drink lots of water with organic salt that has minerals and potassium, before I cook dinner
Love with hugs from Kheng
Read Ezekiel 37 - I will live to win the battle as the joy of the Lord is my strength
Jeremiah 33:6
DX Aug 2011, mastectomy , ACx2, 12 weekly paclitaxel, 50 grays radiation, Arimidex
Stage 3A, grade 3, 8/18 lymph nodes, ER+ -
Kheng, I googled as you said, and all I find is someone posting a comment somewhere that such a study exists. I have never come across this statistic and something sounds definitely off about it.
-
Kheng, all the references on this "treato.com" seem to be to posts you have made making the claim that 50% of patients on femara suffer heart attack or stroke (not true) and further making the claim that arimidex is safer. You really ought to post a link to the study from ASCO where you claim to have found this information.
When I googled, I was directed back to one of these posts that you had made here on BCO last year, when I also questioned the claims and posted the following in response:
""In a head-to-head worldwide study of the two leading aromatase inhibitors, data demonstrate that 50% more women respond to Femara® (letrozole tablets) than to Arimidex® (anastrozole) in advanced breast cancer."
"Both Femara and Arimidex were generally well-tolerated and there were no statistically significant differences between treatment arms in reported frequencies of adverse events, including serious adverse events."" http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/head-to-head-worldwide-study-of-the-two-leading-aromatase-inhibitors-shows-more-women-respond-to-femarar-than-arimidexr-in-advanced-breast-cancer-77510422.html

Kheng,
"If you google search Femara vs paclitaxel, you will find a research journal from ASCO that 50% of patients taking Femara died of heart attack and strokes!!!"
I did google it and came up with the same results, or lack thereof, as momine. Please post the link so we can find this study. I have never heard this. -
I now grow my own turkey tails. I went on mushroom hunt with mushroom expert. He is friends with paul from Host mushrooms. He showed me how to find them. Its super easy. Just go to youtube to learn how.
I found logs with the turkey tail growing on them and brought them home. They need shade. I grind them in coffee grinder. And pour hot water over tablespoon or so. Tastes kind of woody. Mushrooms need to be cooked to become effective for us. He said if i put them in sun for 15 it increasesthe vit D. I alwaysforget. I could put them in capsules. Need to start weighing them out.
I see mushrooms everywhere now
