Help me pick out a Swell Spot
My Trunk LE is much worse this week...worse then it has been in a very long time. I wish I could put my finger on what caused the flare up...but I cant...What may have caused it Was well over a week before the pain increased...Can it take that long for it to make things worse?
So- I dont have a PT that I see. I need help picking out a swell spot to try. My pain swelling & pain is right on the side of my trunk- where the bra band sits.
Can anyone recommend which I should order...Is Bright life the cheapest place to buy them from?
Would this one work best? Sobol Swell Spot Small...the 18 cm size seems like more then enough
Thanks for your help

Also- I do sew (well) Maybe I can make a Chip Bag for myself? Does anyone know what kind of foam I would use?

The Tic-Tac is another possibility. Brightlife is usually the best deal, but it pays to shop around and to take advantage of any sales. Try LymphedemaProducts and BandagesPlus as well and compare. A quick look indicated the prices vary a lot
.
Let us know what you decide on and how it goes, please,Binney

Thank you Binney! I had forgotten about the tic tacs.
I just finished making a 'tic tac' Just slipping it inside my compression bra & I feel relief.
I will let you know if it helps or not.
Then, because I am so down about this flare up & its pain...I had a piece of chocolate!
That really helped

Ah, the chocolate cure!
And good for you for making your own chip bag! Sure a lot quicker than ordering one...aaah, some relief!
Gentle hugs,
Binney -
Do you think the sobol will work better than the breast swell spot that wraps around the side? What about a night vest?
-
Dejaboo-what did you use for "chips" & where did you get them? I was looking for something I could use available in small quantities. I ended up cutting a swell spot I purchased from a fitter.

I wish I could tell you a foam to use Coraleliz.
I actually had some Padded Dress Liners (from the chest) That I had taken out of a dress I am going to use for a Halloween costume. They were pretty thick foam & sitting there on the floor of my sewing room...So I thought- I am going to tic tac sew those together & try it.
I figure I will end up buying a piece of foam & cutting that up. Since I dont have a real swell spot...I dont know how dense the foam should be.

Here's a bag of just the foam chips:

And a less expensive one:

google 'foam chips lymphedema' and you may find more resources.

Thanks Binney & Carol. Don't know why I missed these when I searched awhile back. I was considering using a memory foam chip pillow & maybe chipping up the chips some more. I have the swell spot as a guide for the linear stitching. What I have right now is working & I've only been using it for visable swelling or the achiness that comes before the swelling.
