Tykerb (Lapatinib 250mg)
Hi,
Posting on behalf of my Mother who is technologically challenged. She finised Surgery, Chemo & Treatment for breast cancer last September. The doctor recommended tykerb for a total of 1 year. She's been taking 5 tablets daily everyday for more than 6 monts now.
She was also earlier diagnosed with blood cancer (Lymphoma) in 2000 and successfully treated.
I'm worried sick. Doctors in India do not give patients much information at all. Despite trying to research online, I'm not too sure how Tykerb helps.
Is it ok for my mother to be taking this drug for a full Year?? What are the effects and what are the alternatives?? I should also mention few years back (2010) she has had a mild heart attack
I really hope someone can answer my queries. Thanks in advance.
