Herceptin?

A question about herceptin...
I read a Welloria article about breast cancer yesterday. The article is basically a brief overview of breast cancer in general, which is great for me, since I really don't know anything about it.
One of my best friends was very recently diagnosed with breast cancer and for the last couple of days or so, I've been putting all my spare time into learning about it so that I can be more supportive. I'm glad I found this website It seems to be a great resource.
Anyway, back to my question... The breast cancer article mentions herceptin use for people who have the cancer gene (HER2/neu)... My friend mentioned something about herceptin as an immune therapy and that they might use that for her (I hope I'm remembering all this correctly). Anyway, can anyone tell me exactly what herceptin treatment entails and exactly why that would be something that might be effective (or not?)?

Thanks, and also I'd really appreciate it if anyone can tell me about the little things I can do to make my friend feel better or to show my support?

Wow, what a great friend you are. I'm sure your doing all the right things instinctively without being told what to do. Your friend is very lucky to have you through this difficult time and I hope she is doing well.

It sounds like your doing so much already for your friend. Just being there to listen to her when she needs to talk is a huge thing. (smile)
