I work on the computer all day, & I'm having a hard time getting back to work full time after my lumpectomy & SNB 2 weeks ago. I work from home a lot & have a pretty ergonomical desk/chair/keyboard/monitor setup. Until now! My right arm is still very sore from surgery & typing or mousing really hurts if I do it for more than 15 min or so. Also, my back hurts most of the day bec. I can't shift around in my sleep due to the surgery wounds.

Other than taking lots of little breaks (which helps a little but totally interrupts my work), anyone have ideas on what can help? I have reports due, & I'm on contract (no PTO) so I really need to put in some hours to afford the rest of my treatment!

Look in the all-things-gloves-and-sleeves thread in the lymphedema forum, where gmafoley just posted a photo of her desk set up, after I asked the same kind of question.  After seeing her photo, I did some adjusting and had a better day today than in a long time.

buy a copy of dragon naturally speaking, take the time to "train" it and deduct the cost as a business expense from taxes.  Your arm will welcome the relief from typing.  In my office ( a large firm) the disability accomodation office will buy it for you.

A very simple potential fix: Try mousing with your other hand. You'll get the hang of it pretty quickly.
