Raloxifene

Has anyone had any experience or info on Raloxifene. The oncologist I saw stated that this would be better for me than tamoxifen since I still have my uterus. He stated that using tamoxifen and if you have your uterus could raise risk in Endometrial cancer. He stated that this other medication was less risk if you still have your uterus.

Thanks, Liss

    Hi Liss,

There's some helpful information from the main Breastcancer.org site's page on Evista (chemical name: raloxifene), including benefits of the drugs and side effects to expect.

    We hope this helps!

lisa--I took tamoxifen for 5 years and now I have been on Evista for over 4 years. (I am high risk due to LCIS dignosis and family history of ILC (my mom).  I tolerated both meds well, really with very minor SEs. (hot flashes mainly). I wanted to be proactive in reducing my overall risk of invasive bc. feel free to PM me if you'd like to talk.

Lisa, I took evista for 10 years to prevent osteoporosis. I had mainly hot flashes (which were nothing compared to femara.) I had few problems with it.

thanks for information, I will be meeting with my onocolgist on the 11th of October after having my open excisional biopsy on both breasts on the 10th. Little nervous over it but otherwise feeling good. Wish me luck!

Hi: Was wondering if you experienced any side effects from Raloxifene (Evista)? I am currently doing radiation and go 2-6-14 to see my oncologist with regards to which drug I will begin and he has suggested Raloxifene.
