Thinking Out Loud.....

Had 20 frogs in our skimmers this weekend, and 4 more at the bottom of the pool........not there, granddaughter was, and she text me to tell me..........
They are going to see a priest who has the Padre Pio glove with the "stigmata" on it, and he is going to "lay it on Grayson, and pray over her for a healing from her disability"....,,,,,,,we just found out she may have something called "neurogenic bladder".......,,,,,,this could mean manual catherization for life.......it is a result of the "spinal cord" injury...........in addition to the rest of the shit that butcher caused to happen...a miracle would be wonderful......or some small improvement in her mobility......the brain is amazing...thank God........
This priest put the glove on my husband, and he went from severe back pain (from Pancreatic cancer" to no pain 2 days after the laying of the glove, and no pain at all till the day he died........his surgeon said he should have died on a Morphine drip.........could not explain why other then to say "something spiritual certainly took place. I am a man of science, but also a believer". -
Oh Ducky
I believe
Yes I do
100%
And while we are at it why don't we start a prayer chain for our little Grayson?
Lets start with Please God heal our Grayson.May her disability just disappear.
Padre Pio you have your work cut out for you
Amen. -
Amen
-
I'm praying....thanks my little firecracker......you sparkle and shine........hugs
-
Where is everyone?

Thanks Chabba..I no Ducky is thankin u too.
Comeon sistas..ya no there is a safety in numbers
Xo the firecracker. -
Chabba...thanks....she so needs the prayers......
-
Adding an Amen for Grayson
((((((TOL))))))
-
Amen to the healing prayers.
Ducky, beautiful testimony of things we can believe but cannot explain.
Meece, are you a descendant of Annie Oakley? Wow...
Chris, LOL you tell such a great story - and the best stories are true. Hope school went well and for DD too.
(((Sheila))) glad you checked in.
(((Veggy))) always thinking of you and sending hugs and prayers your way. -
DS had to see the guidance counselor 3 times yesterday and still needs to go back... this is the problem with going to a relatively small school- limited course options (and even fewer with kids going to the magnet schools) So - he was double booked for one class - and had another class still in his schedule that the guidance counselor had put there just as a place holder while he looked into getting DS into a class he wanted that he should have had seniority to get into...which he got - but the place holder class is still there. I think there might be a more useful class he might be able to take than that one. But I don't know what to suggest...and options are probably limited at this point. I suppose I should call the guy myself and see what he says are the options at this point - AND make sure that DS can still take whatever he needs for next semester (like the other English class he needs to graduate) ugh
First football game today for DD. They are doing a modified show since their uniforms aren't back yet from having patches sewn on to cover the "C" that the school president decided to get rid of. Outrageous. So the band, instead of wearing their nice uniforms, will be wearing navy blue tshirts - complete with the new angrywolf-looking husky instead of the husky they've had forever and khaki shorts - AND get this! LONG black socks (that they usually have UNDER their uniforms) - and their black marching shoes. Well - that should look just AWESOME - OMG I hope you're happy Herbst (who I call BitchWhoIsRuiningMyAlmaMater). Hate her and whoever else is involved in f'ing everything up.
The old husky logo was a bit fluffier than the real husky - looked more like a samoyed than a husky, but really - how does the new husky logo look anything like the live Jonathan? It doesn't.
Look at Jonathan - he doesn't look like an angry wolf at all!
Huskies through the years... Before they unveiled the angry wolf:
-
Too funny, Joan. I am gonna find a picture of my wilder, Grizzly Adams days.
Chris, Is the school president new? Is she trying to make a name for herself? Changing uniform logos and such sounds like a very expensive idea.
Last week, on the second day of school, I worked as Counseling secretary at one high school. Hundreds of kids passed through that day trying to get appointments to change schedules. I would prioritize new enrollees and those who were double booked into classes.
This week I worked in the counseling office at a different school, there are still dozens of kids wanting changes. Yesterday I help the registrar get her office organized. Since the first day of school she has enrolled 232 new students. I helped get all the files put together and started filing them. My fingers are worn out!
I have an interview on Friday, it's at one of the High Schools I have not worked at yet, and it is a job I really do not want, but if I get it I will be "in" and willl be able to apply for a lot more jobs within the district. Fingers crossed.
-
Oooh - my fingers are crossed for you too, Meece. That sounds awesome.
This would definitely not have been you, Meece:

-
Sandy, that is so awesome that you got a party...glad you liked the idea!!! You deserve it.
Sorry you are still dancing with "O" and hope you can get to the bottom of this.Chris, your spider story link was so funny. I think your DS needs to have Meece fix up his schedule. Will you be going to any of DD's band performances? It must be exciting for her to be in the big leagues!
Meece, it sounds like you are a valuable asset to the school district. I hope you can lock in the full time job ... soon they will be fighting over you, I think.Ducky, are you spending any of the week end at the shore? Why does summer fly by so fast? I have a lot more beach visits in me, but now it's back to work.
I'll be at Yankee Stadium tomorrow night in the Legends seats up behind home plate...it comes with catered food and seat service. DD got comp tix from Fox Sports because she just made her first cable deal for her new job with Atlantic Broad Band Cable. I love BB and DD wanted to do something for me for helping. There will be 4 of us. Maybe I'll be on TV...or maybe not...
Next day I will be at DD's helping to pack the Uhaul with their necessities as they move to a furnished rental. Four adults will drive four vehicles to Massachusetts. We'll help unload, spend the night, then DH and I will drive back to Long Island via ferry from CT.
Usually DD's family spends Labor Day sitting at the beach with us here. Not this year...
Darn, I don't like changes.Happy Labor Day week end and end of summer (not so happy)...
-
Joan.....yes leaving tonight....will be there with 2 of my daughter's...the youngest with her husband, an 2 Grands....another daughter with 2 of her 3 kids....which are coming in from Chicago, with a granddaughter-in-law............the 3rd is a nurse in the NICU at Children's Hospital in Philly, and she has to work......
We will be closing up soon.....the pool will be closed on Wednesday.......it will be 22 years Labor Day since my husband died...,not a holiday I like to remember......this is a tough time for me, but like I always say "shit happens"...,,, -
Ducky so happy that you are going down the shore....and thanks I had a wonderful time!!
-
Sooo it's happy birthday to Blondie.xo I love surprises.good for you.
Ducky think of all the fun you had on this holiday.your hubby would not want you to still be unhappy..remember the golden rule..live for today,no one is promised tomorrow.
It is still so fugly damn hot in PA.
Damn where is my favorite season FALL?
Ill say good nite now.early day tomorrow
Don't forget my new name.
The Firecracker...xo everyone -
Firecracker - fugly damn - I'll have to remember that one - I think fall will be here soon - though maybe sooner here in CT than in PA. Hope it cools off for you soon! I saw some leaves have started to change on a tree nearby - fall is coming.
Ducky - Glad you will be at the shore this weekend - hope you have fun with the family!
I hope they can get to the bottom of your breathing problem soon so you can ditch the O2, Sandy. Glad your bday was so nice - can't escape the drama - glad it didn't overshadow your good time.
Sorry you won't be at the beach, Joan, but I hope you can have fun with DD while you work to help her with her stuff.
Went to the football game last night to see the band play (and the team LOSE! They were supposed to win this one easily - they are going to be obliterated when they play Michigan in a few weeks...) Band was good - played a "B" list of songs instead of part of their halftime show. Not sure if the uniforms not being ready was the whole reason but it was part of it. They sounded awesome - even if they were wearing their tall black socks with their khaki shorts - (our seats weren't that good - we were far enough away that I didn't notice the socks - lol) Tomorrow night - Preview show - where we should hear at least some of their field show for this year - and they might march it too - last year they didn't march it because the sky opened up before their performance and the artificial field they were on was too puddly - didn't want anyone wiping out - so they only stood and played and didn't march. Should be fun. Won't be able to see much of DD though - she has rehearsal from 9am 'til performance time at 7pm with breaks for meals. They work hard.

Haven't written in a while.
Sometimes I just don't know what to say.... I guess I'm a very boring person.....
I love reading about what you all are doing.
Just wanted you to know I'm still in the background - keeping up - or trying to at least....
hugs
-
Ducky.....healing prayers for Grayson.....❤
-
Again thanks to everyone.........
-
so...saw DD at the Preview show last night - they were great as always. She told me a story about microbiology lab... Went to her first lab - promptly, her lab partner dropped the test tube of e coli and broke it. DD threw her hands in the air and said, "Oh great...we're all gonna die..." TA wasn't concerned and just got the stuff to clean it up. Yup - not really a report a mom wants to hear...(though I would rather hear it and know what's happening than not know.) I hope they are more careful from now on... yikes.
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend (((((TOL)))))
-
Sad day......Labor Day 22 years ago my husband passed away.....57..........from Pancreatic cancer..........Isit now looking around our beach house wondering what could have been......gone too soon........today one of my kids said.........Mom aren't we missing something.........I said "yes"..........your Dad............she smiled and said.......I know Mom..........with that his favorite song "WIND BENEATH MY WINGS"...came on the radio.... And a "WHITE BUTTERFLY" flew above my daughter's head, and she said.....he's here Mom.......he's here........
-
Awwwww Ducky...I hope you believe in the butterfly's..cause it's true.
Yes your hubby was there alrite. -
Ducky.....that gave me goosebumps.....Granny is right.....he was there.....❤
-
I believe........the year after he died, and we opened the house again for the season....it was bittersweet..........we all shed our tears hugged, and went outside to open the pool..........as we were out there a white butterfly kept flying around my head, and my a grands kept hollering...Nannie, Poppie is here.....(they know the butterfly story).........I smiled and said yea he is........
We ordered Chinese food for dinner and while we were eating the white butterfly kept hanging outside near the slider that goes to the pool............
We began opening our fortune cookies....everyone read theirs out loud...........then it was my turn........I broke it, pulled it out and almost fainted........it said........THE ONE YOU LOVE IS CLOSER THEN YOU TNINK........enough said........except that little paper is sitting on his picture in my house........
