HVV: I looked it up and I think it is a fungus, use Biotine or dip your toothbrush in baking soda and lighty brush your teeth and tongue and then rinse with it.
-
HVV -Then call the dr. And get some medicated rinse for it before it takes over, like mine has. It's because your immune system is down watch for a vaginal yeast infection as well!
My rash is worse. I go in to check the WBC again before trying to go to work, hopefully they can fit in a look- see cuz this rash is not responding to the antifungals, but is spreading. : (
All y'all, hang in there! God is watching over us all, and our angels are on high alert : )
I suspect mine is dropping feathers, in sympathy! -
Hi Ladies, not feeling so hot the last couple of days I did my labs yesterday and MO office called and said my white blood count is low, we leave this morning to go see him for a follow up. Hope everyone has a nice day.
Shary -
More hair fall this morning . . . feeling a little down about it. Otherwise, my body feels good!
I just returned from seeing my breast surgeon. She is happy with my progress.
My doctors are at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ. They have many wellness programs that patients can participate in like yoga, acupuncture, massage, healthy eating programs, Chi Kung, etc. She suggested that I get involved in the programs sooner than later because many of them can better prepare me in mind, emotions + body for my chemo. She said why get behind the curve then pay catch-up (trying to undo negative effects) when I can be in front of the curve and do what I can NOW to feel good, be in the best emotional state of mind + have a strong body and yield better results while receiving chemo. Makes sense to me so I will see what I can do now . . . starting with diet.
She also mentioned that diet is key when going through cancer + chemo. She suggested that I research low glycemic foods and build a diet around the recommended foods. She also suggested that I stay away from too many comfort foods . . . so maybe I shouldn't eat the homemade rice pudding I made last night
.
Today's declaration: I AM emotionally healthy + strong in my body.
Wishing you all the best day possible!

Well, first A/C was done on Wednesday and it was truely awful. I hydrated plenty, 3 liters of water/selzte,r so I know that wasn't it. Had a little chat with the doctors yesterday when I went in for my shot. It took all I could do to get myself there and back. Then I woke up at 9:00 PM thinking I had missed the appointment. I pretty much lost Thursday.
Hey, I'm 25% done now (at least for A/C) right?
-
Dear FMGDTR, please express mail the rice pudding to me! I am feeling very sorry for myself today!
Went in to redo the WBC, which is barely up to 1.5. So they gave me another shot - Neupogen this time. AND they took a look at my "rash", looked aghast and sent me to my dermatologist - in whose office I am now planted waiting for my insurance company to approve the visit.
I am SUPPOSED to be home in bed, staying away from sick people - not here in this waiting room. At least at the dermatologist's I might only catch acne or something. I move away from anyone who sits near me, and soon will ask them to call the ins.co. Again and try to expedite this thing.
Shary, I'm sorry you are feeling poorly today! Rest! I dunno why I didn't think to bring my snacks in... -
Today's Declaration: I declare that I will thank God daily for those who uplifted me with private messages. You are the best. I don't feel so down now, thanks to you. Monday is quickly approaching, and my nerves got the best of me. All is well with my soul.
-
Carolpr56,
I will send you the rice pudding recipe, if you'd like. However, I made an awesome carrot cake from scratch with delish cream cream frosting. The cake, if you like carrot cake, with walnuts, pineapple, rasins, coconut + applesauce will make you feel better in no time. It's really easy to make too.
Let me know if you want one or both recipes.
-
FMG That recipe for the carrot cake sounds delicious, I would like a piece now. lol
-
Welcome back Sharon: So glad you decided to come back, How are you holding up with chemo coming around the corner.
Love, Rayna
-
Welcome back, Sharonanne!
FMGDTR, I am always on the lookout for new recipes! Would love to see them.
I just got back from the dermatologists. He believes this rash is a reaction to last weeks' TC : (. What this will mean for future tx's I don't know. At any rate, he shot my rump up with steroids and gave me a topical steroid cream which should give me some relief.
Urg! I treated myself to Mighty Fine fries and a chocolate shake on the way home, and I don't feel one little bit guilty, either! Hugs to all - -
I'm holding up well, Rayna. Thanks for asking. It's just so new for someone who has had such great health all of my life. I know I won't live forever, but it is still a shock. I'm still drying apples. That's what I'll take Monday as a snack. God bless everyone. Hope your day is without pain and nausea and that you have a big smikle on your faces. Sharon
-
Carol: I had a rash with my 1st treatment, it was all over my chest and looked like pimples and was itchy, they think I was allergic to the Cipro (antibiotic) I was on, didn't use Cipro this time and no rash. I was in so many doctors offices and hospital with the first one, and that is not where we are suppose to be with our immune system so comprimised. I hope you get some relief now that you have the steroids in you.
-
Carol and wing: Sorry things are not the best right now. Carol, you deserve anything to make you feel better.
SAB: Welcome back. It will go fine, fear of the unknown is always the worst part of this for me. I'll be right there with you Monday, it'll be round 2 for me. And it's the first day of school! Thankfully DD is big now and will be fine.
Rayna: As you requested, here is me in my wig. Not too shabby, right? Most of the time I'm wearing a simple cap and today went out with the cap and purple fedora. I expect to have quite the hat collection soon!
-
Lisa: you look fantastic. I hadn't seen a picture of you before this so I would never have known it was a wig.
Love, Rayna
-
gavinsgrandma, I hope you get the WBC up quickly. I'll be praying for you. You have probably already gone to se the MO, but I've been making an apple pie, so I havn't been on. Prayer then, now, or later is all good. Sharon
-
Wing, you're in my prayers. You're making me a little nervous though because I have been drinking about 3 quarts of water a day, which is a little less than three liters, but the past two days, I've had one quart, not counting milk, coffee, etc. If you had a bad time, uh oh, I'm in trouble. I know everyone reacts differently. I'm hoping for the best on Monday.
Lisa, your face is just as pretty as your words. The only way I knew that was a wig was to look at the wigs on the wall in the background. It's a great one. I'll have to take a picture of me in mine when I wear it. Right now, I have hair, but not for long.
Rayna, I'm expecting a rash simply because I get a rash when I sneeze. I have already bought cortisone cream because I hate to itch. I hope yours gets better really quickly.
I have you guys on my prayer list and I pray for you by name. Feel the love of God because that's where it is coming from.
-
I meant to say I've had 1 GALLON of water for the past 2 days, not 1 quart!
Sharon
-
Ok, now stop trying to make a smikle on your face. That's a smile and a wrinkle.
-
Oh, sherry, I have so many wrinkles already I smikle alot just to try to camouflage them! I like that word, tho! How's that pie coming? I bet it smells fantastic! You have such a wonderful attitude - you will sail right thru Mondays chemo! I declare and decree it for you!
Wing, sorry you're down! Keep hydrating - a little plain apple juice in your water helps the boring taste.
Poor ShAry/gavinsgrandma - I remember her saying she had to drive 3 hours for tx, I hope the MO is not that far!
Lisa that wig is beautiful on you! Very realistic!
Rayna, thanks for the rash advice - much as I hate steroids, guess they'll become my best buddies for now! -
So my onc said: Dont worry about the tongue that happens and it goes away on its own. My research uncovered that Carol's right: this is due to my mouth not having the usual abiltiy to beat down bacteria. yuck. And, no thanks, never had the yeaties, not interested in getting one. V
-
HVV, the derm is saying he doesn't think it was yeast at all, but my mouth and vaginal walls "sloughing" off skin. Great visual!
You wanna know the most embarrassing part of it? There I was all alone in the examining room, and couldn't help but pass gas, and then the dr. Walks in! I had to apologize right off for the rotten egg smell, which he graciously waved off (literally as well as figuratively).
Carol hangs head in shame... -
HVV, I'm so glad YOUR dr. Was not concerned about your black spots! Good for you!
(Keep an eye on it, tho ; ) -
The doctor just seems to think that with my system being "clean" that it just hit me hard and fast and the next session won't be so bad. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I mean, what can I do, right?
I'm sipping on my lemon/lime seltzer (unsweetened). That helps with the nasty taste in my mouth.
-
Oh to pass gas ...oh to pass something more substantial ! Since chemo 1 have only eaten things that make you go and not much of that. Been having coloxyl (senna) since day 1. This is normally not an issue for me. Anyone have some palatable solutions?
( wish carrot cake was one of them!) -
Wing - keep it up!
Gashgold, I'm a chronic constipation kind of gal. So, the 3 days post infusion I used cascara sagrada, colace, miralax, milk of magnesium, benefiber and a liquid Vt d- calcium with magnesium - all in varying combinations. They eventually worked, and I was slacking off when I had the 3 days of diarrhea. Took Imodium for that. Am now back on the constipation train. For me, it's a real science experiment. Since YOU are typically more regular, you might try adding warm prune juice with some milk of magnesium in it. Not too horrid! -
carol, the passing of gas was very funny!
-
FMGDTR, wish you had been there! ; ))))))
-
FMGDTR, how go the preparations for your vending event tomorrow???
-
Gashgold: Definitely had constipation the first go around. I take Benefiber every day and drink tons. Ate prunes and drank coffee (it has that effect on me). Was taking Colace three times a day and walking as much as possible (helps loosen everything). Also eating whole grain cereal w 10 gm of fiber per serving.
Thank you everyone for kind words about my wig! In case you're wondering my avatar now features my NEW wig that came in the mail today. I ordered it from Etsy and I love it!
Everyone with annoying SEs I hope they disappear! And may all our upcoming txs be uneventful.
