-
Never too late McKatherine....
*** Reminder - luncheon tomorrow at Bungalow Alehouse in Woodbridge at 12:30 p.m. Reservation is under the last name Quick. Looking forward to it.... -
I'm tempted to try to come...if I'm very very still my pain is manageable...I think the drive would tire me too much :-(
-
Relocated - if you think you're up for it, I'd be happy to come pick you up! PM me your phone number if you decide to go. I'll leave around 12:00.
-
Had a good time today though we missed some friends. Our next lunch will be September 7th at Coastal Flats in Fairfax Corner.
-
I am so hopeful that I can attend next time. .should be in the sweet spot...post surgery, pre chemo. tomorrow will be one week since my surgery. Off meds except for antibiotic and one pain pill at night. Can't believe just 5 weeks ago my life was happy and normal
-
We would love to have you join us relocated. You have a path to follow but will get back to normal (May just be a slightly different normal)...hugs
-
Darn, I'm so mad I missed it! Unfortunately I had an unexpected laparotomy almost two weeks ago...left me with a 9" vertical incision, making standing straight up a challenge. Still waiting on path, but am hopeful.
Potomac Mills is just a few miles from me....I can't believe I missed lunch with you ladies -
Hey ladies. I feel back in the real world a bit finally. Surgery Was Aug 5, bilateral mastectomy. They found a tiny bit of cancer in one of 4 nodes. My incisions aren't healing well and I may have to have them cleaned out and restitched. I hope to have the drains out soon. Getting super nervous about the impending chemo...its all syncing in. I'm definitely looking forward to lunch next month...I feel pretty isolated
-
Sorry I had to bail out of lunch at the very last minute, but I'll be there for the September lunch!
Relocatedtarheel -- hope you've gotten your drains out now and that the stiches are starting to heal properly. Please do join us at the next lunch!
-
Hi ladies-- I just had an acquaintance diagnosed with DCIS. Unfortunately, my BS, Dr. Vargas is not accepting new patients. Anyone have a BS in the Fairfax area that they would recommend? Thanks!
-
I would recommend Dr. Elizabeth Feldman at Reston Breast Specialists -- office in the complex near Reston Hospital.
-
I would recommend the Inova Breast Care Center (multiple surgeons).
-
Thanks!!
-
I can't say enough good things about Dr Sebastian...with Reinsch Pierce Family Center For Breast Health at the virginia hospital center. She took so much time with me, her office is soooo responsive and she made excellent recommendations for oncologist and plastic surgeon.
-
I have to go back into surgery on Monday to remove some skin from and around my incisions that just didnt get good bloodflow back after my mastectomies. It will be exactly 3 weeks past my initial surgery. Don't know if this will push back my chemo.
-
Relocated: Sorry to hear this. Perhaps it will just be a minor procedure. Is it skin necrosis? I had that but did not go back to surgery for it. However, it was a 3 month (yes, that long) healing process so maybe it would have been better if I did. I hope it doesn't delay your chemo. I know that it was hard for me to have anything delayed or rescheduled as I just wanted to get it over with! Where are you going to have your chemo?
-
Hang in there RelocatedTarheel!
-
Hope everyone is doing well and ready for a holiday weekend. Relocatedtarheel, hope your surgery went well and you are feeling better....
~~~~ Reminder, the next luncheon is on September 7th at Coastal Flats in Fairfax Corner. Please RSVP to me by next Thursday so I can make the reservation.... -
