I cannot believe I was guided to this site. Thank you again and again it was a life line in the dark hours! Thank you all beautiful women and men.

    Hi Mudfly,

    I did the same thing- waited until I have a treatment plan to tell anyone.  My surgeon and other clinicians tell me many people do that as well.  It's all what you are comfortable with.  Meanwhile, I was diagnosed in May, had a lumpectomy in June, and it was just fine- barely any pain and healing nicely.  After all the tests came back, am now scheduled for radiation.  Terrifying as it is, I expect I will get through that too. 

    If I can do it, so can you!  And you will do it, one step at a time... good luck

    Mudfly - I'm sorry that your radiologist has you in a panic. While he/she has probably done many biopsies, the truth is that NO ONE can tell you for sure if your mass is cancer until they look at it under a microscope. And to mention chemo at this point? That is very unprofessional! If in fact your mass is cancer, you will speak with a medical oncologist - not a radiologist - to see if neo adjuvant (pre-surgery) chemo is recommended.



    You are very wise to wait to tell your children until you know exactly what you're dealing with. In the mean time, come here to vent your anxiety and find support as you need. And while your radiologist is sure it's cancer, I hope the pathology proves him/her wrong!

    Hi Dragomirova and Lekker and all,

    I could not get on the computer until late I have my grandchildren on my days off work. Again I cannot tell you enough what it means to not feel so alone. I will be at work nights throught the week-end. Thank you for the encouragement to not tell until I have all the facts. I have no answers for anyone, including myself. I go for biopsy on Wed. next week at the breast sugeons office under US. Thank you too lekker for your wisdom on the radiologist. It is a large mass and I am a nurse at the hospital where the mammo and US were done, I guess he felt it would help me to get his opinion, it has just made the  fear worse. Being a nuse doesn't mean you are super human and can take it, sometimes it means you know so much you were terrified to go when the lump was found. My terror and panic kept me from acting.  Prayers are with you both, with you ALL. Seriously, your responses are like a life rope. Yes, we will get through...because of people like you. Thank you all gain.
