Groin biopsy results....help

Options

My onc called me this morning to tell me my needle biopsy showed no cancer cells. Now I have to get an incisional biopsy done by a surgeon. I had 4 lymph nodes lite up on my pet scan, so he is searching for breast ca mets. My ca 27-29 was 104 in June. What does all this mean? Am I dying? Help.

Hi Lisa, deep breath girl and try to calm down. You are not dying but you are showing signs that need to be looked into and that is what your docs are doing.

Because your bloods are showing a rise in makers along with the glowing nodes your doc needs to excise at least one of them so they can be fully tested in pathology. It sound like the needle missed its mark and that's why your doc wants the node removed and that's why you need a surgeon.

Hoping for you that your result are clear.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

The nodes they did the needle biopsy were in my groin. I never heard of breast cancer there. Now I am afraid I have lymphoma or something else. My other nodes were in my chest wall/armpit. Masectomy side.

Lisa your nodes are all through your body and BC can travel through them to anywhere in your body. If there are cancer cells there, I'm pretty sure they will be BC ones and not anything else.

BC, if it travels, just doesn't go to the organs it can go to every area of our bodies inside and out........colon, pancreas, stomach, skin and even the spaces between. BC is nasty and very sneaky.

Please don't dwell on possibilities right now as you will just make yourself ill, just take one day at a time hour by hour if need be until you get to the bottom of what's happening.

Lisa, by coming to these boards you have found a whole new family of sisters........you are not alone and never will be again. All you need do is reach out as there is always someone around to talk to.

Having things going on does have a tendency to send us into a bit of a spin but I have found through the years to find out what a problem is before worrying about it and then by that time you are usually too busy doing something about it to worry anyway.

When are you supposed to be seeing the surgeon?

Oh, I'm so glad that you don't have a really long wait.........Wednesday is not that far off and you should be able to try and distract yourself for the interim. Try and stay busy doing things you like to do if possible beside having your mind on other things will help ease the worry.

Well my dear, it's nearly 2.00 am here and I need some sleep. I'm happy to chat some more tomorrow if you like.

Take it easy and do try not to fret.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy
