Nerve damage and muscle atrophy...bone mets?

Not sure if this is the right place to post since I already have mets but not this kind...

For the past two months I have been seeing an orthopedist about muscle atrophy in my left leg and multiple areas where he nerves are unresponsive. I have pain and numbness all the time.

He says its not my leg but something in my back or pelvis pressing on a nerve. Makes sense, especially since over the past two days, I've begun having terrible pain in my tailbone ( I had no back or pelvic pain whatsoever until now).

I have a bone scan tomorrow and am scheduling an MRI as well.

Just curious to hear if you or anyone you know has had these symptoms in their legs or arms before being diagnosed with bone mets. As you can imagine, I feel like it doesn't look good. I haven't injured myself and don't have arthritis.

Thanks for any input!!

    Hi Dutchie,

The members in the Stage IV forum may be able to help with this, too!

Hi there, while I am not stage 4, I saw your post here and your symptoms mirror what I had when I suffered from a compressed spinal cord from a very herniated disc . I ended up needed emergency surgery as the compression of the spinal cord was so bad, I lost leg use and the pain was extraordinary- it felt like I broke my hip too. . I had ignored the pain for a long while  and it progressed and progressed to the point I was really in trouble.  I'm glad you're scheduled for an MRI, It will tell if this is the problem or something else. If its a compressed nerve they will do a spinal cord decompression and fix the disc. I am much better now, pain is gone and muscles strength is coming back.

Good luck to you. And please let me know if you have any questions

    Hugs
