Bleaching your hair after chemo

I have finished chemo Dec. 18, 2012 but am still receiving Herceptin treatments and Tamoxifen.  I would love to dye my hair platinum blonde to get rid of this old lady/manish look I have going on but I'm concerned (and so is my hairdresser) about it falling out again.  Has anyone had good results with bleaching hair after chemo?

Sunshine - I was always told that you should wait 6 months after chemo.  However, I don't think that included Herceptin and I know of a lady that dyed her hair while on Herceptin and it was just fine.

I would suggest you go to a professional the first time instead of trying to do it yourself.

I was a natural blonde before I lost my hair.  It came back this dirty brown/gray color.  After 6 months I started highlighting it, then putting low lights in it and now it looks natural blonde again but I have always gone to a professional for this.  I am too scared to do it on my own because my luck and my hair would come out brassy.

We had to use the frosting caps for awhile because my hair was so short.

I too worried about damaging my hair so I rarely ever use any type of heat (blow dryer, flat iron, curling iron) on it and I do a deep conditioner at least once every 2 weeks.
