PETITION - Assess Bazedoxifene (BZA) in treating breast cancer
Please spread the word to Pfizer to move forward to assess the efficacy of Bazedoxifene in treating breast cancers resistant to current therapies targeting estrogen receptor activity, with a goal of making the drug Bazedoxifene available as quickly as possible. This drug is used for the treatment of osteoporosis in Europe, and according to Duke University Medical Center Cancer Institute's study, has been shown to stop the growth of breast cancer cells. This is a major breakthrough for breast cancer patients.

Thank you toomuch! Yes - I too hope more viewers will sign to show our strong interest to access and further research this drug. It may get help someone slow their bone mets progression as we wait for future studies. We can always post and vent here until the cows come home but unless we knock on the Pharma door and be heard nothing will change.
NOTE - I don't know how the 50 target signature count displays (default?) but we certainly need more!!!

Thank you everyone for helping me and everyone else dealing with this horrible disease. While an online petition is certainly helpful, there have been suggestions on the stage iv boards to contact Pfizer directly by mail and phone. Apparently, they are keeping track of inquiries so the more, the better. Attention Editor:My hopes in forwarding you this petition is to help breast cancer patients spread the word to get access to the medication Bazedoxifene (BZA) in the USA. We are asking Pfizer to move forward to assess the efficacy of Bazedoxifene (BZA) in treating breast cancers resistant to current therapies targeting estrogen receptor activity, with a goal of making the drug Bazedoxifene available as quickly as possible. This drug is used for the treatment of osteoporosis in Europe, and according to Duke University Medical Center Cancer Institute's study, has been shown to stop the growth of breast cancer cells. This is a major breakthrough for breast cancer patients. This drug currently is NOT registered in the USA for patient access.Thank you so much for your time and consideration.Sincerely,Name

cp418 - there are over 135,000 members on this board and we've only been able to accumulate 250 signatures? Is it possible to start another thread outside of the clinical trials section that says, "Need your help, petitition..." Maybe a lot of members don't look at the Clinical Trials/Research area?
-
toomuch - you read my mind. I keep wondering why we haven't gotten more support from members on BCO site. I'll try posting a link somewhere else and HOPEFULLY we can get more signatures!! Thanks for the suggestion!!
-
I think posting outside of the clinical trials/research area is a great idea.
-
I just signed (even though I'm in Canada) Posted to Twitter and Facebook and now about to post on the boards I frequent the most.
-
Myleftboob - Thank you!! If BZA is approved here Pfizer is in Canada too.
