Fungating/Open Tumors
I have been going through as many posts as I can find about fungating tumors and haven't found anything very recent. I know this is a common issue but so far I haven't found a thread totally devoted to this subject and feel the need to start one.
I would like to know what everyone is using to stop the weeping/bleeding of the tumor and keeping the smell at bay.
I have been using manuka honey for the last several months and the weeping has been minimal. However a few weeks ago, the tumor began draining like a seive and nothing I've tried has stopped it. It has also recently begun to smell. So far I've tried colloidal silver, activated charcoal, iodine, baking soda mixed with the honey, tea tree oil - you name it.
I'm having to change the dressing every 2-3 hours or so and is very hard to do at work. I started a new treatment in early June and wonder if this is what's causing the new reaction in the tumor.
In any event, I'm guessing someone out there has come up with something that can help the rest of us and would love to hear from others about what you're using and what is working for you.
Blessings
Sue

Milehighgirl,
I see you've bumped this 2x. I'm sorry that no one has responded and I can't think of anyone off hand with a similar experience. Have you used the search function to find posts by others on this? I actually think it may not be a very common issue. -
Hmm, just checked and there is nothing very recent on this issue. Hope someone can help you out soon.

I would advise propolis but only if you are not allergic to it. Fungus is always succesfully beaten by onion. You have to boil it till it is soft and then put it on the places attacked by fungus. If any questions, let me know.

Annab,
A fungating tumor is not caused by nor is it a fungus. It is a tumor that breaks through the surface of the skin. Because it is open, it can attract bacteria and become infected.
Milehighgirl,
I doubled checked and everything I've read said that fungating tumor are actually rare, not common. I suspect this is why you've not had any response. There are a few older threads from two women ( kita and chillipadi)who had fungating tumors. I hesitated to mention this earlier because they have since passed away but there may be some information on these threads that could help you. Take care. -
I tried "fungating breast tumor" on google and got lots of results; some looked v. Good.
Good luck! -
Oh, I am so sorry. I misunderstood that. Lots of love and big hugs. I hope that you will get all the necessary support and help. Please , take care.

Thanks all. I have googled until I'm blue in the face. Mostly medical gobbldigook. I have gone through hundreds of posts here. I figured that there has to be an IBC'er here among us that is also dealing with this issue. Will just have to be patient!
