mammogram on reconstructed breast????

Wondering how many women get mammogram on reconstructed breast? I had recurrence on tram flap breast if I didn't find the lump I wonder how it would have been found as we usually don't get mammogram on reconstruction my Dr didn't feel it was necessary...but is it I was 11 years cancer free.....

I've been wondering the same thing. Just had DIEP flap recon surgery on left breast, and have to get mammograms of the healthy right one. Nothing was said about the recon breast. Was the new tumour in the transferred fat and muscle, or was it in the mammary fold?

I had bilateral DIEP, and was told to get an MRI every year. My BS and ONC agreed with my PS.

I had a tram reconstruction in 2010 and have mammograms on the reconstructed breast as well as the other one, annually since.

mammogram on reconstructed breast????
