Prayers Needed for Karen L.

I just got an upsetting phone call about our sweet Karen...She's been having seizures...her mom brought her to the ER this morning, and she was seizing on the way. She had emergency surgery on her brain (again), and something was done with the shunt. I think it's been replaced with a magnetic shunt. I'll have more details later when I speak to her mom.
Karen is in Intensive Care now. Please, please, pray for her. I know many of you will be brought to tears by this, as I'm crying through them as I type. This is just freaking awful and so (*&**%& unfair.
I'm sorry to have to post this, and even more sorry that it's even happening. Please pray. I don't know what else to say, besides I'm very sad and very scared...Mena...xo

Thank you everyone...I did speak to Karen's mom this morning. She's such a fighter, our Karen...Of course, I'm a big fat stupid baby. I can't stop crying...
Here's what I can put together: The new shunt will help keep the chemo around Karen's brain for three days...Karen is more coherent now than she's been in 3 weeks! (The fluid was building up more rapidly than they had predicted, hence the new shunt)...Karen was bitchin' at the nurses last night (Karen doesn't really bitch) but that's a good sign...
Karen had botox for her double vision (uh huh hahaha) last week and that has cleared up. She is now only seeing one of everything. Thank God!
They (the dr's don't want Karen moving around much, so they've moved the phone away from her). She's got a private room and all, and Sally (her mom) wants it quiet. Andrew (Karen's son) is fine and Sally is holding down the fort there. Karen may be home Saturday.
Sally said Karen wants very badly to go on living! Those of us who know her, know this already. Sally said she'd be at the hospital at noon and would join us in prayer with Karen.
I conveyed all of our prayers and good wishes (yes, I am that bold that I spoke on behalf of all of you -- the very nerve of me)...I was able to control myself while on the phone with Sally...no tears...that must've been Divine Intervention...'cause I've been crying ever since...
Now, I'll speak on behalf of our sweet Karen and thank you all for your prayers and support. I'll keep you posted...keep praying...thanks...Mena...xo -
Add me to the prayer list - just saw this.

Thinking of Karen and praying she is doing better

hugs,
Carrie -
Hi Everyone...All the prayers (and I'm sure some modern medicine and definitely Karen's determination) have her home from the hospital with hearty appetite, good spirits and of course, gratitude. My friend and I are playing phone tag right now but she did leave me a goose-bumply message about how incredible Karen sounds. Here's a copy of the email I got from her earlier today (she's responding to an email I sent her about a phone call I had w/Karen's mom yesterday):
"I just left you a message before I read this. Karen is doing very well. Eating and everything she's supposed to be doing. I can call her in a few days unless you want to. It's basically free for me but I know you might just want to hear her voice. I couldn't believe it was her. Let me know and one of us can talk to her, okay? I'll talk to you soon.
Take care.
Linda"
In the phone message Linda left me, she even said that Karen was chomping on salad during their conversation hahaha...
How awesome...thank you everyone. Please, let's continue to pray for Karen and all bc sisters...Mena...xo -
