So sad but not really a surprise. Have been thinking about her lately and wondering.

Special hugs to you 3Jays - worry about you all the time.

    Chrissy,

So sorry that you and others on here have lost a dear friend.  As I am a newcomber to your forum I didn't know Isabella but she must have been very special.

Also, thanks for giving me the name of your pain relief.  I was surprised as I also use Turmeric for pain but I take it with Ginger Root.  The other day the oncologist asked me what I was using for pain and I told him of this combination and, of course, he replied he never heard of either of them for pain.  He said he had heard of ginger for nausea and I told him that so far it is working.  I guess I will come to a place where I need something stronger but so far it works.

Have a nice weekend - we are finally supposed to get some relief from this 100 degree weather.  Hot as blazes!

I hope there are lots of dogs in Heaven for Isabella to play with.  She was one in a million, a character with character, and I will miss her too.

Thank you 3Jays for letting us know.

Mary, a lot of pain is caused through inflammation and if we can control that then there is less pain in general. We all have a tendency to reach for a pain killer when an anti inflammatory would work just as well and if the pain is more intense, in combination with the lighter painkillers.

Not a lot of docs know about the natural medicine as that's not what they are taught. I'm lucky as my doc has studied naturopathy as well so I get to choose natural or chemical and he's good to go on what ever choice I make. I do a lot of research on what is good for me and then run it passed him before I start. At the moment, there are a few things happening that I need more professional help with so he has sent me to a naturopath that he worked with a few years back. I'm so happy with her and we discussed all that I take and why and the only thing she added to my regime was some zinc, a probiotic, an adrenal support and a multi B complex as I was a bit low on Vit B. I must admit the adrenal support has been like a magic pick me up as my energy levels have risen markedly.

Not so hot here, top today was 7 Celsius and right now at 11.30pm it is 2! A bit do an icy night coming up.........thank goodness for electric blankets to warm the bed!

Stay cool all and I will try to stay warm........lol

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Oh, just checked in and saw the news about Isabella. So sad, but she is pain free finally. I too hope she has lots of dogs to play with. She will be missed!

I haven't been on lately because I am having nerve pain in my hands and am not suppose to be doing repetitive motions. I am suppose to stick with my heating pad, massage, exercises and icing afterwards. It was interesting to read about the natural pain relief.

I've loved all the pictures. Can only see them on the computer not the tablet, so had to come see what you were all talking about.

Hope all are staying dry, cool, warm and sane. lol

So sad to hear about Isabella, she was such a wonderful story teller about her life with her dogs there on the farm.  I will miss hearing of her adventures with the Gypsies and her neighbors as well as her daily life there on her farm.  At least she is no longer in pain.  Rest in peace Isabella.  Love, AJ

Thanks 3jays for letting us know.  Did you find out what her real name was?  Just curious.

AJ, I too am curious about Isabella's real name.  We know York wasn't her real last name and now I'm wondering about her first also.  Anyhow, she was Isabella to us and I think it suited her.  I miss her and have been so down about her death.

Nancy, good to see you.  I hope your pain in your hands responds soon to the hot / cold applications you're doing.  I'm sure that's miserable since we use our hands constantly.  And FYI, I'm wet, hot, and not often sane so I'm not fulfilling any of your wishes for us!

We kept DGS#1 today and DH took him out to the airport this morning, his favorite thing to do.  This time he got to see the gas trucks, talk to a pilot, and got his "very own wings" pin.  DH gets such a treat hearing him give the pilot flight instructions in his 4 year old way.

Countdown continues for DGD--3 weeks to go.

    Hugs to everybody,

    Kathy

I just wish I had digital photography sixty years ago...I wasted all those years because film and developing was just too expensive..Ihad all the equipment and lenses but now they are history and I love my camera with no extra lenses...remember the days when we had to wait unitl we finished the roll of film before we got it developed and then we had the Christmas photos in July...

Lol I remember those days trying to use up the film. I have boxes and boxes of photos. The kids would take pictures of anything.

My DD called today in tears, she and her BF have broken up. I tried to soothe her,but at her age it feels like the end of the world.

Amazing how a few years puts life experiences into perspective.

Lisa I hear you on the old fahioned cameras!  I too wasted years and a lot of money developing and printing photographs including the duds......lol.  Love the digital age and what these little hand sized cameras can do!

Nancy it's always hard to help DD's when romances go west as it's always the end of the world until the next one.  The only thing you can do is be an ear and a shoulder until the angst has passed.

Finally stuck my head outside today as I had to go food shopping.....why do we have to eat?...Oh yeah, so we can live.....bummer about that.....hahahaha!  I did bag a couple of bargans ......I actually can't believe my luck!  I parked outside a dept. store in order to get to the bank and on the way back to the car I noticed a rack outside the doors that had a sign saying that everything on the rack was $10....too good to walk away from so I went to have a look.  I found two cardigans in my size (unbelievable as there is never anything in my size) and they were in colours that I wear......Yippeeeeee!  two new cardies for $20 now that is a bargain if ever I saw one.

    Have a great day all!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

OK, I'm going to brag on my son right now.

First the background - since he went to a yeshiva (religious educational institution) that didn't offer secular studies, he officially doesn't have a high school diploma. The army offers courses for diploma completion to soldiers who get a recommendation from their commander. My son received a recommendation and has been studying for the past 5 months. He just finished the course and was awarded a Certificate of Excellence for being the top student in his group (that's out of about 60 soldiers). So I am one proud mama!

    Leah

P.S. Could someone please explain to me how to post a picture from Facebook to here so I can continue my brag with an illustration?

Leah, what an accomplishment for your son!  You have every right to brag about him, too, doing it all within 5 months!  Congrats to him and you too.  I'm not the one to answer your question on posting FB photos, but the one time I did it I pulled up this site, went to the thread I wanted, and minimized it.  Then went to FB, got the photo, and right clicked on it and minimized FB.  Back to bco, right clicked (I think) and it posted.  It was absolutely HUGE and I didn't know how to get it smaller.

Oh Leah! Congratulations to you and your son! What a wonderful achievement and to complete it in 5 months is really amazing.........Mazaltov!

As. Kathy said, bring up BCO and minimise then go to FB. Find the photo you want, right click then left click on 'copy URL'. Then back to BCO. In the posting box there is a little tree in the top line. Right click on it........another little box will open. In the top line of that box right click. Then scroll down to 'paste' and then left click. Scroll to the bottom of the box and there you will find the word 'insert'............left click on that and your picture should appear. Good luck!

Leah you are allowed to brag.  Just like when my DD completed her Doctorate recently. The other have said how to post pictures so we are waiting.

Today I managed to really upset the main computer. It had a trojan virus which I got rid of but then trying to block cookies I did something wrong. Luckily a friend managed to sort it out but I have lost a bit of stuff, mainly settings which I will have to sort out as i need them.

    Hope you are al well.

Chrissy and Leah, I was using Firefox and it had nothing about copy URL, just copy.  Maybe that's why mine turned out sooo big.

Trojan viruses horrify me, Alyson! Glad you got it sorted out.

DD had her weekly dr appointment today and all is well.  Contrary to what she thought, the baby has not "dropped" but is at least head down.  She brought her dress by for me to see for the wedding she's supposed to be in on Aug. 10 and it's black.  Bridesmaids wearing black for an outdoor wedding in August in Charlotte--they'll all roast!  Oh well, with her due date Aug. 17 her wedding participation remains to be seen.

Hope everyone's having a good week so far.
