I am highly considering going with Alternative Medicine.  I would like to hear from someone who has been on this new life style change for 10 years ( or maybe 5 - 10 years).  What has been your challenges?

Thank you.....

I highly recommend Dr. george Wong out of NYC and his herbals!

I am just a year out, but feel confident in his protocol.

hopefully, I can answer this question fully in 4 more years!Embarassed

Yes, been on alternatives more than ten years. The biggest challenge is finding the right online or local community groups to support your choice and exchange information with. BCO does a good job for those on the conventional treatment track but has nobody knowledgeable in the alternative world to guide the discussions.

I only pop in once in a while to see if my old pals stop back to check in. I see them on other boards thriving! Hello to Fairy and Ann!

Well, maybe this doesn't apply because it was not a personal choice, but 31 years ago I had breast cancer and had a mastectomy with reconstruction. Nothing further was done in those days so for 28 years I lived without any hormonals, radiation, chemo, etc.  All I had was an annual blood test and a mammogram.

I did get a new primary in the other breast in 2011 and after a lumpectomy opted out of radiation and hormonals. All I do is eat healthy, exercise a lot and get regular blood tests. I do take calcium with D, but no other vitamins or supplements. I feel fine.
