Inverted Nipple

Hi. My sister had breast cancer a few years ago and has been in remission. However, a few days ago she noticed that the nipple on the breast which had surgery is now inverted. Would anyone know what this means? Her surgeon is on holidays and she is having a hard time trying to find someone to ask this question to. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Anytime a nipple suddenly becomes inverted it needs to be seen by the doctor.

It should be checked out by a physician immediately. Any sudden changes to the breast, especially after a BC dx should be examined ASAP.

I agree, my BC was diagnoised because my doctor saw my inverted nipple at a routine mammogram. Do not ignore.

Just to be clear, was the nipple inverted since the surgery or is this a recent sudden change? My nipple has been inverted since the surgery, and no one is concerned about it, even though it wasnt inverted prior to the surgery. If this is a sudden change it needs to be checked out ASAP.
