please need advice chemo affects after surgery

My mom had chemo then  two months later surgery. After , surgery Its almost 3 weeks ago she has nausia . She felt (numbness )same thing in her hands and feets. She feel very weak. Any informaion will be helpfull.

    I'm sorry you haven't had any responses, Zohra.  I was extremely weak after surgery, but didn't experience the other symptoms you have described.  It might be because I didn't have the same chemo, or a different anesthesia might have been used during my surgery.  I don't know. It would probably be best to let your surgeon and/or oncologist address this question.  I think a phone call right away to address the nausea might be a good way to start.  This is so hard on our body.  I hope your mom feels better soon.

    Chemo is hard on our bodies; surgery is equally hard.  I can imagine she is very weak. Her body is trying to make energy for daily tasks and fighting to recover from both chemo and surgery.  It may be 6 months or more before she feels back to normal, but I do know that forcing your body to get up, out and move will speed the recovery process and alleviate side effects.

    As for the numbness and tingling, it may be from the chemo, which causes neuropathy (tingling of extremities) with some.  There are some supplements you can take to help this.  If you post your question about your mom's tingling problem on the chemo forum of these discussion boards and ask for help, ladies will suggest those supplements to take.  They can make a huge difference.
