Cyndie, good luck going back to work! It's a great distraction. I probably went back too early....but I was trying to conserve my vacation time. Last week I got up every morning and complaind that I didn't want to go, but once I got there I was fine. Good to be around other people, good to get back to the real world. Good to feel like you are back to NORMAL!

I will be working for a few hours tomorrow. I don't officially go back to work until Aug. 19th, but I can go anytime I want to to get away. I really enjoy getting back to normal every now and then.

Cyndie, I hope your day goes great tomorrow.

Good luck with the back to work. I love my job and its just my happy place where I can feel me, normal, no cancer. I have been sleeping most of the weekend. Now if I can get rid of my headache I'd be a happy camper.

    Love n light everyone.

Heather, you had the DIEP, right? Are you planning on having nipple reconstruction? If so, have you talked to your PS about it yet?

I think Heather and I might be the only ones at this point in our recovery, but if I'm wrong, please pipe in!

Melissa=I hope your head stops hurting..that has got to be making you crabby by now!  Maybe, put candles in bath..bubble bath..cut off overhead light..listen to soft music?  Can you take a bath now?  I think that was the worst of this..can't lie back in tub with bubbles!  I'm still scared to..not sure when you can immerse site?

Steph-I think you mentioned before you would keep the DIEP consultation if you were me.  I didn't have time to comment right then..and then with my memory issue lately ..forgot..but I think you are right   so I am going to..or at least, send pics of me to Gail..she sent me her email address.  She was the one that, like you said, is determined by how you carry weight.

Lisa -You doing good? Haven't heard from you in a bit.

Am going to try and lie down now. Sleepy.

Cyndie- I hope you have a fantstic first day back to work, Ill be thinking of you.

Steph- Yep, I am reconsidering the nipple recon. I really like not having to wear a bra and the 3d tatoos that Vinnie does are awsome. I think he is in Maryland which would be driable for us. Are you going to do the nipple recon? How are you feeling?

I went out dh tonight for a bit so Im getting out more and more which is awesome. Im getting pretty sore from all the moving around though.

Cyndie, I'm glad you're not giving up on the DIEP procedure. It can't hurt anything (except maybe your self image, and that's important, too!) to get all the facts before you make a decision. Even though I'm 40 to 50 pounds overweight, I carry all my weight in my hips and butt. I am very happy with the results of the procedure.!

Sweetpickle, I had a very interesting conversation with my husband last week. I always get his input before making major decisions, and nipple reconstruction was no different. I wasn't sure I really wanted to do the reconstruction, after all they're for looks only and have absolutely no function. Turns out, I was wrong. They do have a function. My poor hubby had a hard time talking to me about it, because he really didn't want to influence my decision. Finally dragged out of him that nipples are sexy. He understands that I will have no sensation; however, he tells me that nips showing through swim tops or t-shirts is a real turn-on. I never would have thought it! Anyway, I decided if it means that much to him, I'm going to go ahead and do it.

FYI, I was originally considering some type of alternative tattoo, to cover up the scars and hide the fact that I don't have nipples. I decided to wait until next year, and see what the scars look like, before deciding if I want tattoos to cover-up scars.

I guess if you're going with the 3-D tattoos, I'll have to do some research on this site to find out more about nipple reconstruction.

Steph- I did the same thing and talked to dh to get his opinion on it. Had he exprssed the same thing your dh did then I would have made the same decision you have. I do think its important to consider oir spouses in these decisions.

I agree wholeheartedly. It's important to consider their opinion, but still make our decisions based on what we want. For me, I don't really care about the nipple reconstruction one way or another. I'm more concerned with how the scars look. I had seriously considered the 3D tattooing or an alternative type tattooing. There are some beautiful tattooed breasts. Search the web if you're interested.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, I don't have any tattoos now. (Except for my three tiny dots from radiation.)

Good Morning !  Well, when I finally fell asleep, I slept like a rock. Now foggy brained and nervous about going back to work..not physical aspect..just feel like I'm behind in everything and not sure about mental aspect.  Memory sucks lately.

Heather-Gail, in Charleston, said that they had a wonderful 3D tattoo artist that does their work. I'm not sure if that is closer for you than Maryland..and I have no idea if what she says is true..but you may want to look into that. They may even have posted about that part in the "Charleston Bound" threads on this website.

I hope everyone is well today and has a good day.

They do have an excellent tattoo artist that comes up from Florida twice a month and she also has a website with pics. I can't remember her name, but I will find out when I go back tomorrow. At least that's the one my PS uses.

Cyndie, i know what you mean about work. Last Friday I worked for five hours and all I did was email cleaning up my desk and cleaning out my inbox. And that's with somebody else help having been helping me with those things for the last four weeks! My goal for Friday was to get so that when I show up at work today, I don't feel like I'm too far behind.

    Good luck!

Darn, I was trying to add my collage of party photos on this site and I could not do it. I could copy, paste and see the photo in the message box but when I submitted it, there was nothing there. That's why there are two deleted messages from me.

Cyndie, how did today go? I was sure thinking about you. I still tire very easily and haven't been on the elliptical for months. One of these days I'll get my energy back. Maybe.

    Hope everyone is doing well.

So, today was my first day back full-time. Evidently, full-time means 10 hours. I even went in late today to conserve my energy, but the Council meeting went until 10 PM.. So, I considered going in to work late tomorrow, but I have another meeting at 9 AM. And I can't leave early tomorrow, because I have another meeting at 5 PM. I am so tired I guess I should crash. Almost makes me wish for something. I don't know what...

    Night, ladies

Those are like Mexican hours, except you aren't getting your 2 hour siesta after lunch.  You need that.  Don't over do it.

I too, have checked out Vinnies nipple tattoos and that is something I plan to do at some point.  Maybe girls weekend getting our nips put on.  LMAO!!!

I definitely want Vinnie to do my tatoos. I have to wait awhile for that step, but once I reach it I'm calling Vinnie!

I think we have to wait so long after radiation.  But it would be fun if some of us (or all of us) could go do it the same day.

    Good Morning!

Ann-Everything went well. They won't let me on phones (which is the part of the job I love..and passes time I might add!) because I missed several training classes in the last 3 months.  My sup is trying to get makeups set up.  We are constantly having classes..Apple loves to give them (hate those, they tend to have a class, then their test will have not one question that was answered in their classes)..new technology..Blackberrys. So yesterday I went through over 1000 emails. My arm got quiet sore from all that clicking, so today, I think Im going to take a pillow of some sort up there to prop up my arm. I read that if you work with arms below heart level ..every 3 hours you should raise your arm up in the air.  I did that..felt like a moron.  My sup said..you just do what you got to do!

I slept well last night, but woke up too early. So am still sleepy ..going to try and lie back down before I  have to leave..which never works..but can always try.

    I hope everyone is well!

Cyndie, glad your first day went well.

I'm finding myself tossing and turning all night and my bed totally ripped apart in the morning.  Comforter and random pillows on the floor, sheet rolled in a ball somewhere on the bed.  Hoping it gets better before I leave on vacation and tear up my friends' and family's beds.

LOL...I can totally relate!  Last night, though, I don't think I moved at all. Slept the whole night on MX side..so when I woke this morning...Yeowwwww!...Said several choice words coming up out of bed.

So I guess is not our Ann you were with? Weren't two of us suppose to meet? Or near each other?  You know, Im beginning to wonder about sanity. lol. I have so much in my head..what Ive gone through..going through..and will go through..work..day to day stuff..all of ya'll (thankfully!)..and its like my brain says...Whoa!  TOO MUCH IMPUT! So, it deletes random things.

Yesterday, the hospital called she said my insurance is needing me to fill out paper and send back saying I wasn't in accident for MX hospital stay before they will pay.  I was like..yeah! I fell and caught breast cancer!  My boob just rolled down the sidewalk.
